forgot to mention when i posted that pic...not necessarily anything we'll use, just an idea i threw together last night. we'll see if anything comes of it
we're using the drawing, but the "whiskey tits" part is changed a little, and there is a jack daniels design around the whole image.

I'm probably coming to this show to see mutilated and move the rabbit.
though I really want to see the new line up for WWBW.. guessI'll have to head to CT at some point.
got to this show in time for mucopus and mutilated, awesome bands.
I'm sure everyone who was there knows how terrible the sound was in there, using a bass head for a PA after the other one blew didn't help either. But hey, at least all the bands showed up.
Door staff was non existant. Free shows rule. PA was also non existant, microphones and 1/4" inputs on bass heads don't mix. I don't think someone knew what they where doing. Killed a fuse or tripped a breaker a few times early on.
sexcrement - I saw them play one song. What a song it was. In that room it sounded like 1000 babbies burning while being trampled to death.
proteus - some stuff was cool. some stuff was not. drummer needs to keep the dynamics better. hit harder.
Mucopus - these guys pretty much tore it up. fun time was had by all. lots of pig piles on the floor. they had the drums on stage and the amps too which sounded better than most bands.
Mutilated - I guess they where good but did not really stand out or impress me at all. just another dm band. Another pile of dudes at some point I think.
In Dire Need - I think I liked it when that kid playing for the midget who stole god's map better. Not many people left for them when they played. 3 maybe 4 pit ninjas. They had a few melodic parts and I could actually hear all the notes, some of these arrangements worked in that accoustic space.
show was a lot of fun depsite the circumstances (especially the sound issue). sexcrement was so sooo heavy until the whole mic thing happened. mutilated's set went off pretty much without a hitch compared to all of the other bands' sound problems, and they were really cool although the vocals were too low. i'd like to see them in in a better etting i think. our set was weird, i couldn't hear the drums. i'm glad people liked it though. i wish we could have played mayb 1 or 2 more songs. i also think we almost died on the way home. also the photo shoot we did with carina at the palladium was interesting. i'm wondering how those pictures came out.

well, im glad we drove for an hour and a half to play to 15 assholes who werent paying attention
post by move_the_rabbit at Apr 2,2006 1:13pm
other then that we had a good time. props to the people that cared. fuck you to the people that stayed outside.
sorry I missed this...I came down with a fuckin 24 hour bug and forgot about the show entirely in the process of puking everywhere

Yea... Sexcrement were outside during Proteus... BOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Now I am not an expert on show etiquette by anymeans. But I thought it was pretty damn fucking rude to see a whole bunch of people outside in the parking lot during Proteus' set. You guys missed some good death metal.

Sorry, we were attempting to break down gear, while drinking. mark and evan caught most of your set.
i was inside for proteus' entire set, and evan, the other guitarist in sexcrement was inside for probably 75%.
even though the hall had a lot of echo to it and there were technical difficulties for like 2 years, this was a fun time.
move the rabbit was interesting; i'd like to see them again in a better sounding venue to get a better feel for their sound.
even though there was a 45 or more minute "intermission" of sorts before our last song, i felt we played the tightest we have live.
this was my first time seeing proteus; it was a little different than what i expected, but it was awesome nonetheless. personally i enjoy the more death metal stuff over the isis-esque ambient/experimental stuff, but it was all quality.
mucopus fucking killed. i don't know when the last time i laughed so hard was...it was like royal rumble massachusetts edition. can't wait to play with/see them again
we got to see mutilated play 3 days in a row, and i'm still not sick of seeing them. the sound of the room took away a lot of quality though, but it was still awesome nonetheless
the new in dire need lineup is a bit tighter than the last; i'm not sure if it's evil enough anymore though, haha.
I am mad I showed up as late as I did to this show. Sexcrement was just starting thier (well the venues) technical problems as I arrived. what I did hear sounded great taking consideration to the sound of the room. Definitly tight.
Proteus.... I LOVE thier new stuff. I think it sounds amazing. I can't wait to see/play with them again. I really really want to see them in a better room.
mucopus was fantastic. That put off such a fun free for all vibe. It was great.
mutilated = talent.
IDN... I feel we had a good sound considering, but I think we are STILL playing sloppy... or at least sloppy for my liking.
Sorry to all the bands I missed as I was loading up gear and trying to get there as fast as I could. I am sure I will get to see you all sometime soon.
move_the_rabbit: I think one of the guy's girlfiends asked me to shoot one of their shows once, but I had another show. They definitely made the rabbit move (i think it was slowlypeelingtheflesh in the bunnysuit the whole time). they were the only band to get the full benefit of the sound system. Online I thouht they sounded more like TYAG.
Sexcrement: you had a few songs uninterrupted of some brutal music. Lot's of dudes doing dude things and piling up with other dudes. Then, it all went to shit. There was 45 minutes of about to play with most of sexcrement standing there doing nothing and me just making fun of Mr/Mrs MFR. The PA died, the power kept cutting out/etc... After about 45 minutes the power went back on and a drunk, wresstling adem couldn't keep still log enough to sing more that a few words before he yanked out the chord again. That mrs mfr for keeping it in eventually. other than that they sounded sick and it looks like mfr and dankill are going to french
Everybody killed at this show. I would have loved to see the old guy who locked up goin nuts for Mucopus. Adam getting pantsed was pretty funny too. the first animal rampage show is posted too...
proteus: due to the lack of chord, matt couldn't move around that much, but some kids in the audience, taking fashion tips from paull the ninja danced around. Musicially, with the bass rigg running vocals, they sounded more like kanate. I guess it makes sense, since they sounded like isis/douverment before.

I guess I'll do a review
Move the Rabbit - was the definately the best sounding band of the night. cool style, I enjoyed it, howie kills at bass. a thousand hails to you guys for bringing in our gear, you didn't have to do that!
Sexcrement - setlist paraplygic pussy pounder/menstraul money shot/gloryhole casserole/granny tranny midget fetish/colonel angus - seriously, i've never had so much shit go wrong with sound, it was like peru, only worse. the cab i was playing through cut out on me, had to swap heads, begged qyet kevin mutilated to fetch me a bass but whoever had that other cab saved the day, THANKS. then once bass worked, we learned the pa was fried. then we shorted out like 3 times. crazy.
proteus - i was outside trying to break down gear, cleaning up beer cans and such. it sounded good though, i like that long intro song, cool bass line. you guys shoulda thrown down on that blunt!
mucopus - excellent set. one of the few times in my life me and my uncoordinated self tried dancing. "one is too many" was fucking awesome. great band, had a good time drinking with these guys throughout the night.
mutilated - amazing band. if anything the sound/acoustics at qvcc really shat all over what they were doing. i had to go fetch more beer for the after party, so i left before they played and figured i could catch at least 2 songs but they had to play such a quick set i only caught about 30 seconds of the last song. brian is the most under rated/overlooked vokillist in american death metal right now. I'm happy I had the priviledge to see them two nights in a row before this show, cause they were on and sounded killer at both shows.
in dire need - i had to continue breaking down gear and began packing up the car cause by this time it was almost 11. this idn lineup is definately more tight than the last one. i liked them at the fish and game show a lil while back. i did manage to pick out my favorite song by them which i believe was the very last song. it's kinda epic, i've always liked that song, what's it called?
sorry to proteus for being upset about us missing their set. we've been cool with both mucopus and mutilated for years, any chance we see them - we try to party as hard as possible for the time being however short or long they're with us. we'll have to play another show with you guys when you're back from japan.
i'll tell you now I never wanna go to QVCC again.
1. aweful sound/equipment
2. no beer
3. gay ass 11 time limit
post by SacreligionNLI at Apr 5,2006 4:43pm
i'll give you a bunch of reasons why you should go to the qvcc on the 22nd:
1) there'll be better equipment
2) there's a package store next door
3) godless rising
4) sacreligion
5) goreality
6) coffin birth
7) absence of the sun
8) end it all
9) tricks up sleeves
yeah we noticed the package store, but it sucks cause you have to drink outside, none of us wanted to risk getting the show shut down by bringing it in. are you bringing a board? because that house one is finish man. i guess 3 - 9 are solid reasons though.
post by SacreligionNLI at Apr 5,2006 4:55pm
the plan is to have a full mixing board, monitors, subs, mains, drum mics, and instrument mics
i missed this show but i was told that they have a ton of equipment there so i'm gonna try to talk the guy into letting me use that...if not, i'm renting whatever i need
yeah, the equipment that shit out on us was all theirs, look into that, it might be in your best interest to go there sometime soon and just give everything a check.
post by SacreligionNLI at Apr 5,2006 5:08pm
im goin on friday
i was told there was stuff off to the side that wasn't even used but i'll figure all that out...there wasn't a cop or a door guy or any type of security right? that was part of their stipulations and i'd love to not have to pay for that using a loophole such as this...especially when my friends and i can keep things under control
yeah, that was actually a welcomed + with no cop/security, that makes drinking in the parking lot a reality.
post by SacreligionNLI at Apr 5,2006 5:12pm
haha
i'll see what i can do
post by Paulll at Apr 5,2006 10:51pm
josh dawg I didnt care at all, I wish I was outside getting drunk with you guys. I was so pissed off by the time we started playing I wasnt even in the mood to jam. I actually just wanted to go drink haha. But we should definatly play again soon
