though this show hasn't started yet.. it's always off to a jinxed start.
first, like no one has shown up at WUNH so I'm DJing with LP completes as well as shooting pictures.
I walked in and put down my tastey million Oz drink from dunkin donuts and with in 2 minutes if was knocked all over the floor and one of the cleaning doods had to come clean it up. it's ok cause at least I had a couple sips off of it before it was knocked over. |
|
it finally started. someone was vacuuming a pluggged in guitar. |
|
also, carina learned a lesson from that article yesterday that steveotb posted. I asked for a sammich and within 2 minutes, I had a gd sammich! |
|
what article? i must have missed that one..
you know i enjoy doing things for you..and it has NOTHING to do with the fact that our conversations have gone like this...
me: oh aaron, i'm not perfect
aaron: well, you're as close to perfection that it gets
... |
|
the article about the guy beating to death the girl for not making his sammich hot.
feed baxter two guys from my radio station making a lot of random echoy noises. it was hard to figure out where things were coming from cause it was so processed. they also used a vacuum cleaner on a guitar and a coolder with a microphone in it. |
|
im really glad this is playing right now |
|
I'm trying to figure out what to toss in when they is over at 3pm.
I need a CD that is at least 1 hour long and has no swears. |
|
I don't have still life, morningrise or orchid.
ocean, great call. will do. |
|
Proper Hooligans: punky rock. they interacted more with the crowd and had a friend that kept yelling things. they covered the misfits and someone else. I guess they are playing at milly's tavern tonight and have been around over two years. |
|
was there just any dead air there? I thought I ran in as bwp was finishing and kicked off ocean |
|
Jannetty: complete rock out opeth worship. There was a heavy infleunce of black water park in there music. The songs were really long, but didn't get boring. 3 people in this band, 2 guitars and a drummer. No singing allowed. During their set, a video camera recorded them on stage and then played it back on a screen behind them. Sice the camera was low and behind the crowd, this basically turned into looking at the ass of whom ever stepped in front of it.
birth_rites: some of the newer stuff they play seems like jonathan finally learned how to play the keys and he's just showing off. The on song about hunting gay dragons in the pasley forest of east umpkintonsshire is really good and if it's ever recorded could be wonderful. the sound was definitely better the last time I saw them, but now I know the new songs so it's better. |

roid rage: flexflexflexflexflexflexflexflexlexflex pumpiron flex flex flex. one two one two one two there one two three four. feel the burn. and then repeat. while they were setting up there was a comercial behind then for " salom in the home". their set was hilarious. keenans same antics as with DWW except this time there was more charging at the crowd. with all the NH people there, I thought there was going to be a lot more moshing. but the only people that moshed were the dudes in the front flexing. from the other shows they've had, the level of flexing and actual body building going on during the set was as a minimal. there wasn't even anyone benchpressing anything. not even a couch! America's funniest animals payed behind them. it was awesome to see the horses from which who's piss is turned into roids to fuel this band. Keenan said a bunch of things into the mic, but I have no clue what they were.
grrrls out of hell: rocky. they looked like they knew what they were doing, but I wasnt into a lot of it. they did get a lot of hollers from the crowd and I think that they wold play really well in one of the bars in dover. it was also so hard to hear anything cause of the echoy room.
double dragon: completely acustic music from start to end. two guys on stage so the name made sense. I thought that mike luz was in the band, but I guess not. techy guitar work. this of the solipsis stuff if they didn't like meshuaggah. some of it reminded me of dysrhythmia in their pace. I was surprised that it actually filled the room pretty damn well. I wonder if the drummer could use a metranome like the guy from solipsis. they could play the same songs at different tempos. |
