If you spend years smugly gloating that your policies are right and shouting down the other side every chance you get, and it turns out your policies were wrong, it helps to 1) have the balls to admit it, 2) change your future policies to reflect what you've learned 3) drop the smug attitude that made you look so foolish in the first place.
