SLAYER ANNOUNCES WINTER 2007 HEADLINE TOUR WITH DIRECT SUPPORT UNEARTH!
"Slayer is one of the most influential bands of all time in the metal genre.
We get to tour with those guys and bring our brand of metal to their stage.
It is an honor, privilege and a god damn milestone for us." Trevor Phipps
of Unearth
This monster of a tour will hit the road on January 24th for a four-week
North American tour. The dates are in support of the Unearth's latest
album, "III In The Eyes Of Fire" (Terry Date, Soundgarden, White Zombie,
Pantera, Deftones 8/06). "III In The Eyes Of Fire" tipped the Billboard
Top 200 Chart debuting at # 35and was Unearth's first new studio album since
2004's critically acclaimed Metal Blade Records debut titled, "The Oncoming
Storm."
"UNEARTH leaves no stone unturned in creating a monstrous album that
incorporates elements of everyone from IRON MAIDEN (guitar harmonies) to the
best of the Swedish melodic death metal bands". Blabbermouth.com
"This is easily a front running candidate for Metal Album of the Year."
Blender.com
"Unearth is actually as dark, hard and heavy as they claim it is.
utilitarian metal at its finest." Decibel
"The Metal progenitors hit back with the brilliant and brutal III In The
Eyes Of Fire." Guitar World"
"A Stunning accomplishment, one that repeatedly pushes the boundaries of
heaviness, yet contains enough sonic and lyrical layers to give the songs
depth and staying power." Revolver Magazine
"The punishing metal quintette from Mass- fans of seven string guitars- made
lots of new fans on Ozzfest this summer: It's like Anthrax and Megadeth
rolled into one. It's everything you want in a great metal song" Cory Taylor
of Slipknot in Rolling Stone Magazine
The last three years of touring has transformed Unearth into the most
powerful live show to see, attracting Slayer to ask them to be direct
support for this upcoming tour. Unearth has shared the stage with Black
Label Society on Ozzfest 2006, Slipknot, Sounds Of The Underground 2005,
Lamb Of God, Killswitch Engage among others; and has delivered their metal
at a fever pitch on recent sold- out tours of Australia, Japan, and Europe
as well

Unearth will have a new video, their second one off "III In The Eyes Of
Fire" for the track "Sanctity of Brothers" produced by Darren Doane (Every
Time I Die, Lamb Of God)

Just ONCE they will have an opening band that doesn't inch me to chewing a hole in my wrist during their set. Just once.

This shit is going to sell out FAST. Lupos is tiny for Slayer.

Shopping Mall Metal

I heard they were also going to be on The Laguna Beach soundtrack

and Slayer has not done anything great since the eighties

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Nov 16,2006 2:02pm
ha, the laguna beach soundtrack. that's gay as hell.

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Nov 16,2006 2:25pm
those are some small venues for a band that played tsongas a few months back.
should be fun regardless its slayer

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Nov 16,2006 4:51pm
I saw Slayer a couple years ago at Lupo's actually. That place blows. So many little steps, no room to move around.

The GWAR tour is going there next month however, so I will be in this shithole for that and definitely to see Municipal Waste above all else.

toggletoggle post by urinal turd at Nov 16,2006 5:16pm
lupos isn't lupos anymore. it's now at the strand and they just say its at lupos.

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Nov 16,2006 5:41pm
I know it's not the old Lupo's anymore, I was referring to the new place.

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Nov 16,2006 7:15pm
Didn't they tour with the Haunted (Slayer)? That was alright.

Slayer never toured with the Haunted in the U.S. that I can remember.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Nov 16,2006 8:11pm
Sick of it all was probably the best opening act they've had in the past ten years when Slayer was headlining.

toggletoggle post by chris_from_shit_fuck  at Nov 16,2006 9:31pm
I like Mastodon, so I thought that was a good opening act. Other than that I agree with everyone else that they pick the worst openers.

toggletoggle post by demondave at Nov 17,2006 3:19am
They want to bring in the Mall crowd. Plus, they want openers that won't blow them away... Mastadon were an odd choice for them, because they weren't fitting any of those characteristics. Maybe Kerry saw their tattoos in a magazine and thought they were Good Charlotte

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Nov 17,2006 9:19am
hate the game not the players

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Nov 17,2006 2:22pm
didn't meshuggah open for slayer back when meshuggah was good?

toggletoggle post by HeavensJail at Nov 17,2006 2:28pm
yeah, they and SOIA opened on the same tour

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Nov 17,2006 3:24pm
uh, if any of your bands were offered a place on an mtv soundtrack, i doubt you'd say no.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Nov 17,2006 3:30pm
Meshuggah is bad now?

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Nov 17,2006 3:30pm
Catch 33 was out there, but its far from bad. i will agree that its no Chaosphere.

toggletoggle post by HOoker nooasijdfaojd at Nov 17,2006 4:54pm

Any one that bashes slayer should just take a look at slayer's career, and then take a look at their own life, most people that bash slayer are fuckin losers still livin with mom and spend all day on the computer, slayer has done more with their lives then anyone on this site.

toggletoggle post by CaptainCleanoff at Nov 19,2006 12:10pm
Slayer has shitty bands open up so they do not feel "upstaged".
Either way, I still like em, but I am sick of em.

I was at that show in RI, SOIA got pissed at the crowd, but I cannot remember why because I was hammered and trying to find oxygen in the room because Lupo's was so packed I felt like a Jew on a train.

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Nov 19,2006 2:55pm
slayer has these bands open for them simply to get the young kids out to the show to see them
