New site? Maybe some day.

childhood nostalgia seems to be a pretty rampant theme in threads lately. it reminded me of how terrifying pee wee's big adventure was at 6 years old, more specifically the emergency room dream sequence with the clowns. fuck clowns. |

If you haven't seen C.H.U.D. 2, consider yourself lucky. It was a bad rip off of Return Of The Living Dead. |

I can see the nightmere now. She's chasing you around town banning you from clubs and then you wake up, roll over and she's there next to you. AHHHHHHHH! |
don't even joke about that, son. |
the Exorcist and the Sentinel (the 70s horror flick not the new one) made me brown my shorts when I was a kid... |

I only banned one band from a club and that's it. The owner suggested it first and then changed his mind. I also changed my mind about doing shows there. Besides, the nationals hate that place and some refuse to play.
what band did you ban and why? |
are you going to rag on me if I tell you? |
when do i not rag on you? |
i'm just curious as to who it was and what they did to get themselves banned. |
I'll try to make this short and simple. The bass player from Death Among Thieves was also playing in my boyfriend's ex-band, Psyren (he wasn't filling in, he WAS a member for a short time). I placed my boyfriend's band, Psyren on the Mojo bill. To make a long story short, the bass player from Death Among Thieves (and Psyren)decided to play another show on the same night and he wanted to tell everybody on stage to leave and come see his other band that night (1 hour later). The owner of the venue got mad because that takes peeps away from the bar. I didn't take any bar money for the show, so it wouldn't have mattered to me, but I did have an obligation to the venue owner. Well, my boyfriend and I told him to make a choice... the Stuck Mojo show or the local bar (no national) down the street. The bass player got pissed. because he couldn't do both and wrote this dumb ass blog about me which ended up on RTTP in a thread called "Don't Book this Band" The Rev can conform that I did not start that thread. The owner didn't want him on anymore bills at that club, due to him trying to take away draw from the bar. Therfore I wrote to Heavy Core and told them to take them off a future bill coming up (I was told to do that by the owner, plus I can't stand that band anyway, so I didn't bother me). This is what started all this hate on me from RTTP. Personally, they can play anywhere they want... I just won't work with them anymore, that's all. But I would NEVER tell anyone not to book a band (the owner ask me to not have him play, but he changed his mind later). I, in turn, also changed my mind about booking there for various reasons. |
on with the scary movies!!!!! |
Candyman. The scene where he cuts off that kid's willy bothered me to no end. |

Translation: You were banned the club for starting shit with patrons and making threats. I called them and asked. (207) 773-3466 They were sick of your shit. They also told me your were also kicked out of the Alehouse and the Asylum. Given how you throw fits here, I believe it.
aaaaaaaahahahahahaha
Owned, dumcunt. |

"it" fucked me up
CHUD? Cmon. really? I thaught that was made to be comedy!!! The guy that did all the shit (I think wrote and directed) runs that sil;ly venue called the art space. |

I just called the Big Easy to see if that radio station taking her full blown chaos show was legit or her being banned from yet another club.
Verdict -> Legit. |

WRONG. The bartender let 40 people in for free at $20 bucks a ticket. that's an $800 loss. Of course I was pissed at the freeloaders. I could have made split point with Strapping Young Lad and Goatwhore... I got fucked, the bands got fucked, so I decided not to do biz there anymore. Moreover, The Asylum does not have aproblem with me and I never booked at the Ale House because it only holds 100 peepes. (it's closed now). You don't know the story. lata silly. |

Bullshit, that last show at The Big Easy was SOLD OUT... they only hold 150 peeps and the count was 148 at a 21+ club on a Monday night. That bar made a fuckton of money. They canceled FBC because they were afraid of moshing and WCYY helped them out of it.
Tales of the crypt fucked me over big time as a kid. |
kazaam was rather scary too now that I think of it... I mean really, Shaq in a big purple sparkling look like the dead guy from the prices right outfit. Thats terror in the purest form. |

IT
Poltergiest
Arachnaphobia
Child's Play movies |
Poltergiest. This movie hands down scared me the most when I was a kid. The first time I saw this movie was when I was home sick when one day in Kindergarten. This was on HBO right after Dawn of the Dead. Dawn of the Dead I loved from the first moment I saw it, but Poltergiest freaked me the fuck out. It was a great movie, but just that fucking tree scene and that clown scene scared the shit out of me. |
I had a hard time with Candyman. Looking back, I was just being a stupid kid. |
alien
arachnaphobia
terminator 2(more the nuclear destruction than anything)
michael jackson's thriller |
The Shining when I was 4.
Friday the 13th 1-4 when I was 7.
I have never been the same. |
Haha, The children. I remember that flick. That was tapped. |
Ghoulies - I remember seeing the movie cover with the green thing with teeth coming out of the shitter. Scared the fuck out of me and led to a life of standing to wipe, just in case. |
The Fly...the one with Jeff Goldbloom. I had nightmares for a month and my dad called me a sissy.
I watched Nightmare on Elmstreet regularly with no trouble though. Go figure. |
If a "Psyren" show is effecting your draw.... then it's time to book a better show. Honestly.
One time I played a show at Reflections in New Bedford, and immediately after our set I jumped in my car and flew to Provi to see IDN open for Dying Fetus. I watched their set, and a bunch of us all drove back to Reflections where they played another set. It was awesome, and no one ever once mentioned banning anyone from anywhere. |
My father made me watch the original 13 Ghosts when I was in 3rd grade. I don't know what it was about that movie, but it scared the hell out of me. I was convinced I was seeing ghosts coming through my bedroom walls. Pussy. |
CHILDREN OF THE CORN was fucking scary because my friend had corn stocks outside in his back yard. Everytime I watched it I would have to run home which was down the street and it always was at night. |
why am i not surprised that a thread about movies that scared you as a child became a discussion about blackmetalcunt? cant you speak once without going on and on about how "influential" you are? douche.
Ghostbusters used to scare the shit out of me. the beginning when the librarian is walking around is fucking terrifying. |
Krull....not the whole movie, just the part when the cyclops first shows his ugly mug. |
Poltergiest, how the fuck was that movie rated pg? |

Arachnaphobia, The Thing, American Werewolf in London, Nightmare on Elm Street 1, Friday the 13th 1, and Cat's Eye.
Now I love all those movies, except Arachnaphobia. Fuck that movie. Fuck the spiders. |

Hahaha! John Goodman will always save the day! |
I saw Arachnophobia when I was maybe 8 or 9....I was shaking towards the end of that movie during the "final showdown" with the spider - spiders have creeped me out ever since. I also remember seeing Jurassic Park when it was in theaters, I was probably the same age, about 9 - I was so used to seeing dinosaurs on TV as these slow, clumsy things that you could tell were fake, so when I saw these very real looking dinosaurs moving so fast it was scary to me. |

Oh yeah I hear you on that dude.....I saw the second one on a field trip in middle school and I thought it was so gay that little nigger girl was kicking raptors' asses with her gymnastics and T-Rex gets loose in the city....give me a break. |

Cliffhanger...where that stupid bitch drops to her horrible death in the beginning. A concept like that is real fucked up when you're a kid. |
oh man, how about pinocchio? i hate that part where all the kids start turning into donkeys, so fucked up. |

Ill never forget that night. I got busted for speeding my first time ever haha. What a great time. I forgot that you guys played that show too. Reflections is going to be doing shows again, so I am probably going top start booking there again. I miss that place so much!
P.S. we are thinking about making another chariots of fire fest since the other one was so fun ;) |
Wizard of Oz, I had a nightmare the witch took me by the hand and put a spell on me so I couldn't breathe, I woke up choking and have never watched the movie since.
The Blob, I had fears of how the blob could just get infitly bigger and bigger and even if I escaped, it would one day envelop the earth.
some movie with medusa was scary too, it made me afraid of iced tea, I guess I was drinking iced tea at the time. I remember how I thought my grandparents were protecting the world by hiding these three horror movies in their cabinet, it was the original frankenstein, werewolf, and dracula.
I still think the classic horror movies are the most fear inspiring. |

actually the "Tourist Trap"movie mentioned by Troll was pretty fucked up too...I forgot about that one. The scene where they seal the womans face up with plaster til she suffocates was brutal... |
alien, the blob(that movie made be afraid of the sink for like a week) evil dead, ghostbusters 2(i don't remember this but i guess i would freak out whenever the baby was taken away.) |
Salem's Lot. The floating dead kid tapping on the window really got me.
I remember Burnt Offerings, too, but not the what the movie was about, just the creepy smiley guy with sunglasses. What the hell was the movie about? |
Howling scared the shit out of me and also silver bullet, werewolves used to scare the fuck out of me cuz I had woods all around my house |
