So, I know it is early, seeing how they don't announce bands until like two days before the god damn show, but does anyone know any rumours, or have any hypothesis of who is going to be there.

I want to venture a guess that Sonata Arctica will be there because they will be at progpower, and have a new cd out soon, so I am asuming they will be in the states for a tour, I pray to god Therion will be here too, but I have a feeling they are on a european tour this year for their new album.

Maybe Wintersun, or some other semi popular foreign metal band.

I really hope something along the lines of Nevermore or Iced Earth decide to go on tour.

Maybe some of the bands on progower?

but in reality I know there will be like three bands and one headliner I actually will want to see.

it will be like most years

the hardcore kids get nothing
the metal kids get nothing

shitty metalcore worcester bands take the stage for a suckfest

I was going to make a post like this.
I'm guessing that "hot" bands will be playing this like anal naathrak. seems that nemhf gets the bands that are going to be hot for the next year, like dragon force last year.

toggletoggle post by y_ddraig_goch  at Dec 25,2006 1:41pm
yeah, there will always be one up and coming, kinda like Bodom, who were not too big, but were huge the year after they played metalfest

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Dec 25,2006 1:48pm
I hope Anaal Nathrakh doesn't play this. They'd probably end up like Necrophagist was last year. With only 15 minutes to play.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Dec 25,2006 6:21pm
i will only go to metalfest again if there is a onetime At The Gates/Carcass reunion. otherwise.... no dice.

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Dec 25,2006 7:26pm
99% chance some of the bands playing will be terror, btbam, acacia strain black dahlia murder ect.

i wish they would put alot more different bands on.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Dec 25,2006 7:28pm
I guarantee Killswitch Engage will headline one of the days.

toggletoggle post by GoatCatalyst   at Dec 25,2006 8:15pm
Rev, in what way is Anaal Nathrakh "hot"? Nigga please, that's SO beyond the average metalcore moshturd, which is the "core" demographic of NEMHF.

PS - yawn

blood has been shed

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 25,2006 10:07pm
mr ryan adams is out of the loop.
anal nathrakh is the "hot" band on everyone's list.
not saying they aren't good, but that's the band who's balls every kid is on now.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 25,2006 10:08pm
also KSE didn't play last year. they probably are like other bands that played there before and ask for too much money to play.

toggletoggle post by GoatCatalyst   at Dec 25,2006 10:11pm
i fucking hate "kids"

LETHAL BAPTISM FOR ALL CHILDREN!

anaal nathrakh is great, but far beyond the scope of the average coretard

toggletoggle post by GoatCatalyst   at Dec 25,2006 10:11pm
PS - watain and deathspell omega are far superior

Killswitch was on hiatus that's why they didn't play last year. They just put out a new album. They will headline 2007.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Dec 25,2006 10:14pm
Anaal Nathrakh is far superior to Deathspell Omega and Watain. But I also disagree with Aaron. They are popular right now with real metal fans but not to your average Mall core kid that would go to metalfest.

they should do a tour that doesn't coincide with metalfest. metalfest ruins good tours i want to see ------------> evergrey :(

think what you want, but when their myspace name drops are hitting of the level of BDM or JFAC... I'll be right.

actually, I was sort of doubting there would be a nemhf this year.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Dec 25,2006 10:21pm
ANAAL NATHRAKH 'ESCHATON' has 6460 friends.

Not that many my friend.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Dec 25,2006 10:23pm
Job For A Cowboy has 104204 friends

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 25,2006 10:24pm
right, cause every person that name drops a band on myspace obviously has that person as a buddy.

Aaron you've lost it.

Of The Betrayed?

No but seriously I'm guessing It Dies Today & Bury Your Dead for sure because their albums came out not too long ago.

Basically think of any band you can think of that put out an album within the past few months to any band that's putting out a album shortly or around the time of MHCF and you'll see them on there.

I'm pretty sure Chimaira is a shoe-in because ferret will probably want to push the new cd pretty hard.

Disturbed and System of a Down will headline the '07 metalfest and it will be sponsored exclusively by Hot Topic.

I'm just kidding, but I wouldn't be surprised.

like when that metalcore band gamma ray headlined last year and that other metalcore band, king diamond headlined the year before.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Dec 26,2006 12:59am
Yeah, they always throw in one "true metal" headliner just so that niche has to buy a fucking ticket...myself included

I'd be really shocked if Anaal Nathrakh played NEHMF regardless of whether what Aaron says is true or not, but I sure hope he's wrong

i wouldnt compare Anaal Nathrakh to Deathspell Omega, they sound nothing alike.

I'd like to make a prediction for 2007............Watchmaker will not be playing, again

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 26,2006 10:43am
I think the network will probably play now.

toggletoggle post by Old School at Dec 26,2006 10:43am
i'd love to see a reunion thrash show but that will never happen. i have to say not a fan of the new school but this band Human Abstract strikes my fancy.

Well that was completely uncalled for. Just because Anaal Nathrakh is better in my opinion.

toggletoggle post by GoatOfCatalyst at Dec 26,2006 4:42pm
I realize that Watain and DsO are very different from Anaal Nathrakh but if there's a band to get into, those two are where it's at in my never humble, bourbon-enhanced churlish opinion . And I love me some Anaal Nathrakh, mind you. But even the most chest-slappingest retard could discern Anaal Nathrakh's inferiority to Watain and Deathspell Omega.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Dec 26,2006 4:50pm
I do listen to all three bands. I just like Anaal Nathrakh more. Anaal actually seem like they're progressing out of black metal. So us comparing them was silly.

toggletoggle post by GoatOfCatalyst at Dec 26,2006 4:51pm
Nothing personal, dude. I once found myself engaged in a debate that almost took a turn for the physical with some wack-ass honky bitch that INSISTED upon Peace Sell's superiority over Rust In Peace. Shit almost came to blows.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Dec 26,2006 4:55pm
Don't worry. I know that Rust in Peace was Megadeth's finest hour. LOL
