Tom left me (hoser) and the Natework (nate) out to dry tonight. We went to the Barley Pub, got "holy WOW" shitwrecked and alas.....no Tom. There is an open Vendetta now, man........show up, get shitty, and go home with a slut or die!!!!!

He was the most time consuming pointless part of the whole story. I'm sure it was all for character developement so they'd have an explanation for why he shows up later on, but it just took waaaay too long to get to the point in the first book. It was at least 100 pages just for the detour through the woods, having some shit happen, then getting back on the road they were trying to avoid in the first place.
