New site? Maybe some day.
i was gonna wait...but i was too tempted
boy am i glad that i'm listening to this right now |
kinda brought the yawns. deleted it from comp after one listen |
really? i'm liking this a lot |
I think it's entertaining, the drumming is great. |
yawn yawn yawn, everything boring unless it involves guttaral grunts and computer generated snare hits.
actually I liked what I heard, but man it's such a short cd, all the songs are 4 minutes or less |
i thought the clean vocals were amazing...definitely way different than the other stuff
as opposed to being classical/operatic with the notes all over the place, the clean vocals follow more of a set pattern, but it's still interesting in the sense that it doesn't repeat exactly
i can see why it bores some people, but i'm probably going to get very irritated when people start bitching about how much it sucks even though it doesn't |
I like it, sounds great, and Hellhammer's a great replacement for Nick Barker. |
downloaded it last night, only gave it one listen through so far and I have to say I actually enjoy it. |
after a complete spin, I have to say enjoy it. I'll have to give it another few spins, but I'm taking breaks between listens, at the moment I'm enjoying some Darkane |
its not so bad... i have to really give it a real listen before judgement can be brought upon it. |

Nah I'm kidding - I know what you mean! |
I've never been a big dimmu fan...this should be noted. |
though I haven't deleted it from the recycle bin...maybe I'll give it one more play from the grave. |
listening right now... good but seems a bit lackluster. not their best work. |
death cult armageddon part II |

could not have said it better myself.

yup, i saw an interview recently that said they were going in another direction...well i hate to say it they haven't...i mean i like the album but it's just not a puritanical or a stormblast, they need to go back to thier roots... |
one more note....WAYYYY too much synth, and the guitar work is NOT THAT GOOD! |
guitars where never that good. The use of a real symphony was always my draw to the band, and the bass player when he sings.
I like Tvangeste better, far better symphonic black metal band. |
meh i guess you're right but stormblast did have some catchy riffs |
i think this is way different than death cult...that vibe is definitely there but it's mixed with some puritanical-era stuff and some old man's child sounding riffs(galder probably wrote more than in the past)
i'm definitely liking it the more i listen to it...but i'm a huge dimmu fan so i might be biased |
as for drums its solid but missing a bit of flare... and yea the riffs are more in that emperor-ish key |

on the last 3 albums the guitars were definatly good |
what i like about dimmu is that you listen to EDT and then PEM and then DCA and they all sound different, thats why i think it's lame that everything, even down to the production on this new one sounds a lot like DCA |
marduk sucks live...it's a fact |
Wow....this good. Very classic Dimmu taken that much further...me rikey! |
I have never ever ever heard faster feet in my life. |

track 2 right? when shagrath's screaming "in sorte diabli"
I don't know why but I just find that nothing this band does sticks to my ribs, the songs just roll by for me. I mean they're not awful, I don't hate dimmu, I just never think "I want to hear dimmu borgir!"
They're just almost...mediocre. Hellhammer's drumming is pretty special though, I have some hopes for the new Mayhem |

I thought the same thing. wow indeed. |

Triggers dont make you drum any faster....they just plant a certain drum sound into a signal.
That signal goes to a pa or recording device, and does nothing for your speed. |

i know this but he could have uneven hits and thru drum editing/use of triggers make him sound flawless.
the tempo around there is 140-150ish 32nd notes at 150? thats impossible to pull off.
Dood, its hellhammer!!
nothing is impossible.
his name IS hellhammer, ya know |
Id like to add, that the orch on this album is gorgeous. |
triggers do make u able to drum faster. just turn up the sensitivity a tiny bit and tap it the snare ever so lightly. its alot easier to twitch a smaller muscle quickly than a large one. |
Well that could be said about electric drums.
Point is, youre still physically hitting said drums in time, right? |
it sounds like the batman soundtrack. |

We can't stop... its too dangerous!!
yeah the double bass is pretty ridiculous |
this is a decent record, but i'm far too concerned with the new marduk, vital remains and kroda cds to give dimmu any extra time |
