woot!

Emmure = worst EVER band from CT. SO shitty they can't even get a show in their own state. People need to stop encouraging / enabling such mediocrity.

toggletoggle post by corrado_images   at Mar 13,2007 1:36pm
hey aaron, i talked to the guy and your all set to get in. You just gotta tell him your name and thats it. See you tonight!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 13,2007 4:30pm
well, I'm going to leave in a few minnutes.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Mar 13,2007 4:55pm
what does the name emmure mean?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 13,2007 6:33pm
holy shit did I just go off-roading. stupid GPS.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 13,2007 7:27pm
carina and having to pee are the only reasons I found this place. I also drove down sporoedo rd or something like that.. it was a huge mud pit. 1/2 frozen with huge rutts. my car is completely cover

agnes grey: it was cool to see corrado's band. I had heard the name a long time ago, but it's been a while since I heard it last. I guess they haven't played any shows for a while. It was funny making him the target. Oh noes!! I forgot to ask hims about flashes!! The guitars were messed up or something cause the you couldn't here one of them at all. I think the drummer was playing softer trying to hear the guitar cause of it. Also the monitor in front was the only thing with sound coming out of it. The speaker I was standing next to did nothing but hold me up. I'm glad that I got there on time to catch their 3-4 songs. The crowd did not seem to be glad... Not about anything. At all. Ever. There was one or two dudes who danced on command. The rest of them stood their with their arms folded.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 13,2007 8:29pm
brutal intentions: really really young kids... Are they old enough to be touring? oh, I guess they aren't one of the touring bands. The guitarist played a bunch of cannibal corpse sounding riffs and the singer was screaming in a really hi-pitched scream. Not girlie, but more like the non-viking singer for 3 inches of blood. The crowd came in a bit and there were tons of video cameras, but still they didn't seem to care. No dancing. Their set was short too. Only a couple songs and they were done. I think they have had a little more recent practice time that agnes grey.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 13,2007 8:37pm
All Heathers Are Dying: by sharing equipment with emmure, they sounded so much better than the first 2 bands. I mean they had 2 full stacks.... C'mon.... The music was sort of breebree-deathcore means everytime I die. Loud & heavy slow mosh parts got like 5 people moving and punching people beside them. At one point, the bassist threw his bass around his neck and it hit one of the guitarists in the face. The bass player seemed to be the one with the problem after too. If I were that guitarist, I probaly would have crumpled up on the floor, urinated my pants and then forgot the past 2 weeks of my life, but he shrugged it off and was more concerned that his pick was gone. Another short set. I think they did 6 songs @ 2-3 minutes per song. wait.. 6 songs.. and they have a 6 song ep coming out.. hm.. that's too close to just be a coincidence.

toggletoggle post by corrado_images   at Mar 13,2007 10:35pm
haha nice seeing you tonight

everyone seemed really unhappy, there was ZERO moving around. When Emmure came on it was crazy but jeeeeeeesus. I just think the kids need to get out and run a little more and build up endurance so they can dance around for more than one band. Theres maine

toggletoggle post by tbone_r nli at Mar 14,2007 12:59am

toggletoggle post by GoatCatalyst   at Mar 14,2007 7:14am
if you do that oh-so-cool throw your guitar over your shoulder and catch it trick and the guitar in question is not both heart-shaped and triple-necked...

SUCK COCK

We still had 2 songs to play at that show, one brand new that we wrote for that show, but decided based on the fact that no one seemed to give a shit about us we said fuck it and ended early. I still think its pretty lame, for a scene thats supposedly all about support your locals I didn't see much support. Oh and rev, everyone in the band is 14, 14 and 16 other then me who's 19 but we'll be touring this summer.

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Mar 14,2007 11:11am
damn, who's gonna drive

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 14,2007 11:15am
I figured you were over 18 cause of the tattoo. you should have played more. it was good stuff. I'm going to listen to the track on your myspace now.

toggletoggle post by GoatOfCatalyst at Mar 14,2007 11:32am
Emmure, Rev... Emmure. Let's talk about Emmure. Did they play that song with the REALLY BRUTAL breakdown that makes boys kiss?

toggletoggle post by Brutal_Vox at Mar 14,2007 11:52am
Last night was weird for us, we've never had a that bad of a reaction from an audience but whatever shit happens. The track we have on myspace isn't recorded all that well or anything we are going to be recording our first demo next month. You should come up to the acacia strain show in bucksport april 8th.

toggletoggle post by bald taco at Mar 14,2007 1:14pm
wow rev. im sorry if this show "represented" the maine scene to you. all these bands arent that good at all. and most of the kids in southern maine are white belt, girl pants, fruitcake hair, mosh-until-china-explodes, doooooshbags.

toggletoggle post by GoatCatalyst   at Mar 14,2007 3:17pm
how much longer must i wait for your evaluation, rev...

EMMURE...

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Mar 14,2007 3:23pm
you know Rev, man. I don't think it's going to be a negative review. I think you're riling yourself up for a disappointment.

the reverend has done too much acid to remember to post full reviews on this site

even a man with such a benevolent disposition cannot be so dishonest with himself as to find anything redeeming about this band. ct's most wretched export EVER.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Mar 14,2007 4:11pm
i feel bad for any band from Maine honestly. The kids here suck

toggletoggle post by aaron_michael  at Mar 14,2007 4:15pm
We're playing with Brutal Intentions on the 24th. I hope there's a decent crowd there.

toggletoggle post by Brutal_Vox at Mar 14,2007 4:20pm
Dude Bath is our hometown, there's never a shitty crowd when we play in bath. What band are you in?? Mammon Machine or Putrescine.

toggletoggle post by aaron_michael  at Mar 14,2007 4:24pm
I'm in The mammon machine

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Mar 14,2007 4:26pm
is it pronounced like mammin or muh-mon?

toggletoggle post by aaron_michael  at Mar 14,2007 4:30pm
kind of jamaican, "ma-mon"

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Mar 14,2007 4:31pm

ok, that's what i thought

toggletoggle post by aaron_michael  at Mar 14,2007 4:33pm
if you ever watch that movie Constantine(shudder), there's a proper pronunciation when talking about the devil's son(who's name happens to be Mammon, though we didn't use that movie as a reference).

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Mar 14,2007 4:33pm
good thing, because that movie is horrible. i almost walked out on it.

toggletoggle post by aaron_michael  at Mar 14,2007 4:36pm
if you take Keanu Reeves out of a Bill and Ted-esque film, or one that involves him surfing, then you'll kind of wish you had watched dogs fuck instead of 2 horrific hours.

emmure: unlike was the goat may have wanted, I didn't see any dudes kissing... Or girls kissing... Or actually anything even close to kissing going on during their set. no angels dying. No boys wearing girl pants. Maybe a little bit of people practicing their bedroom mosh skill and wearing white belts, but kids did start to mosh a bit during them. The floor was fully opened up a few times during their set. They are much better now that they don't play acacia strain covers. The sound is loud and very polished. On the line of BYD or TAS which are big amongst the kiddies these days so it's no wonder that victory records snapped them up. I looked at their tour schedulling and it is true that they don't have any shows listen in CT.. Weird... Maybe all of CT does hate them (with that said the goat and the boys from invocation of nehek is the sum total of my friends in connecticut). I guess victory isn't going to make their millions off them in the greater CT valley. boohoo. they will prbably get the same treatment as hellwithin; people hate them at home, but love them across the US..

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Mar 15,2007 10:21pm
who called it? who knows their webmaster? I dooooooooo.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 15,2007 10:26pm
I'm not from CT so I don't hate them. they rollin, I'm patrollin and CT's trying to catch them dirty ridin.
though each and every bad review I give a band comes back to me some how. from some dude telling me "that why metal people should stay the fuck out of hardcore" to matt fox calling me out at a shai hulud show about a zombie apocalypse review.

toggletoggle post by futurebreed   at Mar 15,2007 11:52pm
Getting called out at a show.... Awkward

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 16,2007 12:07am
it was kind of funny. when I saw zombi apocalypse at hellfest, I called them a gimmick band.

toggletoggle post by tbone_r nli at Mar 16,2007 1:51am
you can do no wrong in my book, rev. besides, shai hulud is overrated big time.

toggletoggle post by GoatCatalyst   at Mar 16,2007 2:15pm
no smoochin' dudes??? way to sink my battleship, rev

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 16,2007 2:17pm
some of their new CD reminds me of a band that I really like and everyone hates called hate theory.
