Glen Benton is washed up now, but earlier Deicide up to Once Upon the Cross (the best one in my opinion) was pretty damn good -- especially for the time period.

I just saw an advertisement for arch enemy...I'd rail that chick like there's a tomorrow, but it's pretty far off.

then I remembered their guitar player doing a scaley doodle for betcha can't play this. kinda weak...then I saw Al Pitrelli's betcha can't play this. It was a minor scale played...kinda fast.

I downloaded a couple of Deicide's albums and listened to them in full and really didn't feel anything. I like the guitar work but that's about it.

I highly reccomend the first two albums (Deicide and Legion) though - those albums are landmark death metal records and Glen's vocals were pretty fucking sick and very unique for that time; I don't think any other band of that time was layering three or four varying pitches of screams to get that completely possessed sound.

i used to focus way too much on hating shitty music and it made me lose enjoyment for music as a whole. nowadays, a band or two will annoy me sometimes, but i generally just focus on what i love and ignore the other shit.

i'm glad to see u2 listed in this thread so much. i hate that friggin band so much. my gf and i were talking about how much they suck the other day. i can tolerate the music in a few songs, but bono's vocals totally ruin that band.

Aerosmith & Led Zeppelin

I'll never ever understand how people can hate Led Zeppelin. I know everyone and his brother likes them, they've sold millions and millions of albums, they have truckloads of crappy merchandise, rock radio stations turned "Stairway to Heaven" into just another overplayed pop hit - but to me, they're one of those bands that as big as they were/are, they earned it, by always consistently writing great songs and putting out great albums.
Definitely one of my favorite bands.


I also have another band to add that I hate:
Nirvana. By far one of the most overrated bands in all of rock and roll if you ask me.

Yeah too bad they didn't write most of their best songs and the originals absolutely murder Led Zeppelin all over the place.
