I've been working with a few people to get the interface right for a month or so... carina, liz, some non-rttp people, and more recently rich, mark, msd, and bdc.

are there anything with the current events page that you wish was there? anything that really annoys you about it? I've added tons of things that will make it so much more convenient. The code/database will be share across:

history: the events page was written in 2000 with a perl interface. re-written in 2001/2 with a php/mysql interface. That's basically what you have now with a few minor changes/updates.

Weren't there separate fields for bands, time, cost, age restrictions, etc.? If not, there damn well should be!

what I've added so far

1) a separate field for bands, time, cost, age restrictions, location, state

2) ability to add more than one show at a time (like a whole tour)

3) local moderators (ie: liz can delete shows added in NYC, etc)

4) filters: you can filter on states, dates, locations, prices, age limits, etc.. so people in NE don't see shows posted in CA unless they really really want to.

5) filtered RSS feeds/plugin, so sites like karen (metal union) can link and display just todays shows on their sites, but the adding of shows goes through rttp.

6) more info on the "show page" with some addition attendance/comments adding.

besides all that, I've made all my code really portable to the rest of the site and updated all the hacked SQL calls.

BTW, I used it to add 7 shows at once last night. If you forget any fields, you it will pop up to remind you.

Ah okay; I wasn't sure since the events page doesn't currently have those separate fields.
