toggletoggle post by sever at Feb 16,2008 12:34pm

Lies. Hallucinations during a fever are a sure sign of much worse underlying condition. Get to the hospital immediately and get a head CT.

you're the liar sir. all out open eye visual hallucinations maybe, but its normal to be delirious for a short period if your fever is bad enough.

Yes Sir.
I used to have that happen more often back in the day. One time I swore I was listening to Abe Lincoln talk to me while chains moved like snakes across the walls. Then I walked out to the living room and told my family there was a bomb in the room and passed out right there.
Worse was when I was a little kid I used to have a bunkbed. I used the top bunk and when I was sick, being so close to the ceiling fucked with me so that I'd think I was upside down on the ceiling a lot. This prompted me to wake up my mother one night and tell her not to wake up dad next to her, because if he saw me on the ceiling at this hour, I'd be in BIG trouble. Needless to say, she assured me he wouldn't be mad and then gave me more water and meds.
Last time I felt like that was maybe two years ago, where I was really sick with a high fever and if I stared at a corner of the room, it seemed to get huge and tiny all at once and suddently, I felt like I was across the room, growing and shrinking in that small space. It last a short hile, but it was really strange because it hadn't happened in years up til that point.

ive never had that happen but you might as well enjoy it while you can.

toggletoggle post by sever at Feb 17,2008 1:46pm
haha its not enjoyable at all. if you're conscious for it, it's basically a delirious panic attack.

toggletoggle post by Dankill at Feb 17,2008 1:58pm
Yeah, it wasn't very fun. It was just fucking weird

toggletoggle post by ghostface killah kadoogan at Feb 17,2008 2:02pm
When I got the flu, up til i was 10 or 12, I would hear a quiet, high pitched talking that would grow into really loud, deep, yelling, and back and forth and back and forth. Used to scare the shit outta me.

YEAH!! I had strep for two weeks once. Everytime I got up for a drink or a piss I got light headed and my line of vision was diagonal. Fuckin sucked.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Feb 17,2008 2:39pm
Enjoy it while you're young, like sexual harassment at the workplace.

toggletoggle post by SW at Feb 17,2008 4:39pm
well if you take nyquil or a similar product that has dextromethorphan it can make you feel quite odd and hear and sometimes see things.

"When taken at doses higher than are medically recommended, dextromethorphan acts as a dissociative hallucinogenic drug. It is classified neurochemically as an NMDA receptor antagonist, producing effects similar to those of the controlled substances ketamine and phencyclidine (PCP),[2] which affords it a significant potential for abuse."

toggletoggle post by Dankill at Feb 17,2008 6:33pm
Yeah, but I didn't need that stuff. It was 100% all-natural fever-induced craziness.

i get dizzy almost every time i stand up. it may be the low blood pressure, or the altitude. whatever it is, the docs don't know...
