That was the last time we played there too. She's going to think we're the house band or something, haha. Awesome. |
first time chopping block-er here |
me too. jay thinks we're going to get kicked out cause we're not all 21, claiming the guy who owns the place is an asshole. i dont know what hes talking about.
i have no idea where this place is, what it looks like, or anything like that. |
hmmm DOM just turned 21 a little while ago and he's played there a few times before then...so i dunno if that'll be an issue... |
yeah, i've never been there either. i love conquring a new venue. wee. |
kelly, been a while... did you move and get a new job yet? |
the guy who runs that place is Bob, and whoever said he is a dickhead should get his eyes cut out. |
joe, can i get one under 21er in? |
blue no you cant...... im just kidding, i wouldn't know |
I played there once before and I was 20 at the time. No one gave me any problems.
Blue, just use the old "they're with the band, lives two hours away, and I'm their ride." |
jay said his old band was supposed to play there and they kicked them out cause they wernt 21.
im assuming this isnt a problem, i dont see why it would be. |
it is.... it is..... anh I dont know |
this show is going to be boss. i'm looking forward to seeing everyone there. |
me seeing ds first time since...
note the drummer. |

Its literally right down the street from my apartment.. |
awesome, that makes things alot easier. thanks jonah |
succubus said: kelly, been a while... did you move and get a new job yet? |
yes. i currently live in Woonsocket RI and i work at a title company in Providence. weeee! i have nights and weekends off now...which is really what you need to have when you're in a band. see you tonight, dahlin!!! |
I'm down and heading out to this now.
grasshoppers time. |
see everyone there! w00t! |

I guess the drums will at least be better ;) |
this show was amazing. raising kubrick was the craziest shit ive ever seen. i give up playing guitar, they put us to shame. im stealing blue's amp when he's sleeping. i wish i could have stuck around to see ascendancy, but my ride was leaving. =(
teratism was awesome as well, but i couldnt believe the awesomness that was RK. i demand that we play more shows together. jesus god. |
I'm home.
working on the pictures.
give me some time..
I shot WAY TOO MANY PICTURES |
ok... all the pictures are up, but I can't get perl working to enter the picture into my database.
give me a minute. |
George said: i wish i could have stuck around to see ascendancy, but my ride was leaving. =( |
Pussy!!!! Sleep is for losers!!!!! |
Now that's a slick shot. |
Sums up the whole night. |
the show was great,
Agahnim opened and were a mix of grind and punk/metal, their bassist had a broken thumb but they still managed to kick the night off to a great start. Definately a good band, this was my first time seeing them and I think I will again.
Teratism was on second, these guys destroyed!!! Definately a crowd favorite when they covered Napalm Death, Phantom Ryan gave his approval. Somehow Teratism's set caused everyone to age 5 years.
Dreaded Silence played next and was the least extreme of the bands, but I liked them. They had some death metal parts, but were overall a melodic band with some rock parts. The mic was acting screwy during their set, so it was tough to hear the singer if you were in the back. I am looking forward to seeing them tomorow again.
Raising Kubrick was on 4th and were the crowd favorite that night. Sarah's vocals were not overwhelmingly loud, thanks to Meredith who came all the way from NH with some other crazy girls. They were really good that night and gained some new fans in the other bands.
Ascendancy plays really, really, really fast. If there is a band who you never have to worry about being upstaged by anyone, it's Ascendancy. Mike's mosh pit with Blue, while still performing, was a great ending to such a stupendous night. |
Teratism was so sick that my necklace broke!!!
This show kicked my ass. I knew it was going to be killer because I went to the ATM before the show, my balance printed out as $666.02.
Killer. |
the show was fun. Ive never played with Terratism and Agahnim before. But they were awsome, very tight. Ascendancy raped and looted again as usual. I want a t-shirt as soon as have them. |
"Agahnim opened and were a mix of grind and punk/metal, their bassist had a broken thumb but they still managed to kick the night off to a great start. Definately a good band, this was my first time seeing them and I think I will again."
thanks joe, that's a pretty accurate depiction, the whole unrest cover and everything. what do you refer to as punk/metal? like crust or something? broken bones, genocide ss, phobia type of sounding stuff? i'm just curious.
yeah, i got kicked out of that place a few years ago whan my band tried to play a show. it was one of the first shows they had ever had there. they seem much cooler about kids under 21 being there nowadays.
yah. i'm still in shock at how tight we managed to play, and how brian played at all with his broken pinky finger all in a cast. he was definately the sXe cripple. it's almost as good as when i saw eternal suffering play a show a while back. their drummer had a broken arm and managed to still play decent with only one arm. god, he's so fucking good.
This was an awesome show, all the bands were fucking sick, a note to all the people who left, we sucked anyway, I wouldnt have blamed you for leaving!
:P |
this show was disgusting. aganihm was waaaay better than they were the first time i saw them at the BoK this past summer. teratism won me over damn quick with their awesome dying fetus style dm. im getting their cd this sunday. dreaded silence wasnt really my thing, but they were good nonetheless. raising kubrick sucked as always. but once again, ascendancy stole the show with hands i cant even follow. not to mention mike getting the pit going with me. what a grand ole time. |
aganihm: they sounded pretty good even with the broken finger. I think george needs to workon head banging and moving while playing fast. Maybe there is a class at berklee for that? Jay and I were completely unable to deal with that PA system.
dreaded silence: I was told they were having an off night so I'm not going to judge hard. Since the last time I saw them, I can definitly tell the huge Opethian influence. I also think that the drummer needs to take some more liberties, the drumming seemed a little simple. from what I remember before it was more death metal and now they have nice melodic riffs. I couldn't really hear the clean vocals, damn microphone. I think that someone should try some day to have 2 mics set up, one for clean and one for scream. set the clean one louder... maybe?
teratism: man.. I love that naplam death song... they are pure mid-90's metal and it's excellent. I don't think they sound like dying fetus... except for the fact they have dual vocals cause they aren't slammy. can't wait to see them again on sunday.
raising kubrick: wow, what else can you say? an absolutely awesome performance. kris even pulled an ascendancy and went outside to play in traffic. it rulled. Sarah's vocals just get better and better. I see great things for these guys. It's funny to watch kris, cause you can tell during the more intricate bass parts, he doesn't jump around as much. blue's riffs are purely awesome.
ascendancy: I thought to myself 'self, it's so late and after rk's performance, ascendancy isn't going to do that well' and then BANG, they were fan freaking tastic. I couldn't believe that I would be so pumped up during and after their set, but it was great. |
overall last night was a good time. my band turned in a pretty subpar performance. once we fucked up the beginning of our first song we kind of got out of our zone. but oh well, i've seen some excellent bands make mistakes on stage over the years, so one bomb won't kill us. we'll redeem ourselves tomorrow at all asia. the other bands were killer, especially raising kubrick. sorry to ascendancy for not sticking around for your set. i was too disappointed in myself and there was too much booze around for me to stay there and not make a mess of myself. you guys were great last time we played with you, so i'm sure you kicked ass last night too. thanks to joe for putting us on and everyone who had kind words for us last night. you guys made my night. |
i really need to get the headbanging going when i play shows. i usually focus so much on playing guitar that i forget haha.
the best part of the night was this
or maybe this
hahahahahaha |
The show was really awesome. Thanks to all the bands we played with, you all did a great job, thanks to joenotcommon for putting the show together and thanks to rttp and defyunlearn for the shots. |
last night was a great time. one thing i have to say is that teratism kicked ass i was so impressed. ascendancy was great but that is nothing new they are always great. the other bands that played did a great job. |
all three of us posted in the same minute. that was weird. |
that's "dark crystal" george.
I loved it when he fought the Skekes
ok i had to do some stuff for work this morning (from home because i told them i wasn't going in on saturday) anyhow..we got back last night and i sorted my pics...just finished working...and now i will get going on my photos...of course i'm guessing someone wants to go for food and coffee
but man oh man what a night! It was an off night for me ..didn't get much sleep the prior night and then my camera acted up :( i don't want to have to buy another one right now :( aaron couldn't fix it either...so i didn't even bother with my flash....going to do the firmware upgrade on it and i hope it doesn't mess things up further!!
but anyhow..back to the show...talk about getting people riled up....by the end of the night i was ready to see all the bands play again..wow..i was so high from the music!!
ok shutting it now |
by the way aaron, the pictures came out fucking awesome. these are the best you've done of us so far.
good thing my mommy dressed me all purdy last night. |
yep def purdy! i got a couple of great smile one's too...i'm uploading now...getting there... |
punk metal can come in many forms, usually though I am refering to bands like disrupt, discharge, macabre and such.
However, Motorhead would also be punk/metal.
Grindcore itself is punk/metal, excluding that terrible metalcore type grind.
You guys should distort your bass so much that any note played on it would induce vomiting. |
Joe/NotCommon said: Grindcore itself is punk/metal, excluding that terrible metalcore type grind. |
there are a ton of forms of grindcore.... I think you are confusing.. you mean to say metal-core (bands like the accursed) which was a fusion of punk/metal in the 80's. kevorkians angels sound a lot like this form of music.
original grindcore was a term used to talk about bands like naplam death and carcass. very short songs that we no just call "death metal". |
All in all this was a great start to the new year. |
yeah it was..i had to redo the pics...my batch messed up
i have a headache |
I have a ball ache. Actually I have an everything ache. |
me too
i'm hating balls right now
anyhow...ok aganihm is up sorry the pics are not good =(
Aganihm photos |
succubus said: i'm hating balls right now |
umm.... ok? |
you hate them too
right MDD?
c'mon sympathize with the man!
ascendancy photos..coming up next... |
but i don't have balls... |
Balls are magnificent when they don't get caught places of get in the way of things. |
not gonna happen.... ever. never.
how dare you even think something like that!! |
Balls in the butt is stupid. That would hurt way more than it'd be worth. |
it sounds dumb...aaron showed me a movie..i don't get it at all |
i don't get the whole butt thing that guys have at all...
anywhoo... nice pics... especially the ones of that hot guy... hehehe |
i forgot to rotate them though
doing that now!
woot |
cool, i was afraid of tweaking my neck again. hehehe |
haha
now you don't need to tilt yer head to see mike ..or aaron
hahaha
this pic is hilarious... |
yeah, we were talking about that... how hot is that? |
wow, i had no idea my hat wasn't on straight. i look like a wigger in all the pics. oh well, the pics are nice. thank you reverend and succubus for the nice pictures. our set will actually be worthy next time. |
dreaded silence will do better next time too. |
succubus said: ok aganihm is up sorry the pics are not good = |
what are you talking about, these pictures are awesome!
hah, jay is the man in that picture.
thanks for comming out and taking pics, they look great.
aww thanks george! i was feeling so crappy..damned camera..anyhow refresh...i tweaked that pic! |
what did you do, make him blush? i cant tell. |
I just brightened it a bit...some of the pics are dark..so i went in photoshop and fixed it up |
Jay has officially been Photoshopped... technically. |
heh
ok
but if you want to see the original again:
if i were to tweak everyone photo..hot damn it would take me a lot longer...i just run a batch ..it's semi automated ...looking at the 2..i am thinknig i should do each pic manually...hmmm too bad it would take me an eternity..ok i am about to mess with the software in my camera |
personally, I liked it when you were able to tweak around with one picture at a time. batching maked +++ on the numbers, but --- on the quality, re: rttp |
yeah i know..but time wise :( |
It was a good show. Good bands played. (I can't sleep again) |
the_reverend said: dreaded silence will do better next time too. |

aaron, someday you and I can sit down for lunch and I will better explain myself. The accursed don't have any sort of punk influence that I can see. I will make you a CD of bands from the 80s and 90s who are punk/metal, like the bands Jay mentioned |
sorry, I typed "the accursed" when I mean to type the accused.
they are a metal-core band from the 80's mixing metal and "hardcore" but back then "hardcore" meant "hardcore punk" |
hardcore should only be a form of punk.
other so called types of hardcore are cheesy, dumbed down and boring.
now i get what you mean though.
this came out awesome! thank you person who took that!
this one screams "peek-a-boo!"
haha |
oh man, it was such a good time. all the bands kicked ass. i hadn't been to a good show in a long time...one where i can just let lose at. i can't get drunk at my own gigs. tee hee. my RK loves...what can i say? you are the best of all time. ascendency kicked my ass as usual. i was so hungover in the AM. it was great. lol. good job, kids! we need more shows like this EVERY WEEKEND. |
w0000000t! |
that is the frickin' greatest.
it looks like the light streak is trying to snatch her beer away from her
Sarah's wicked nice, too. It was fun hangin' wit y'all last nite-- |
lol. damn light streak taking my beer!
that is a great picture..lol. thanks carina. |
HEY liz sorry about our music dismantling you neckless right of your neck!!haha...I will take good care of it as I rap it around my guitar it be forever incarnated with my future metal ventures.....Liz you rule...Rob of teratism |

wow, this show thread has a ton of replies |
Oooh, don't forget that Teratism and is playing again at the next Boston's Dead on February 5:
Bane of Existence
Leukorrhea
Teratism
Dissector
And Aganihm is playing the March Boston's Dead with Disengaged, It Will All End in Pure Horror, and one more TBA. |
aganihm actually is not playing that boston's dead, they had to drop off |
Oh, and Joe, there's so many replies cause you booked a killer show. And Rob, thanks for "forever incarnating" my necklace. I can't think of any way I'd rather lose a piece of jewelry than sacrificing it to a crazy show! |
Oh shit, that sucks. How come I didn't know about that. I'm so out of the loop. |
they told you and brian at the chopping block |
maybe you weren't part of the conversation, nevermind.
get noosebomb! |
we canceled that one? what was the date of that show? we might just be able to play that if it happnens to coincide with my spring break. |
The show was March 4. I think we just got an e-mail that it's the day before your spring break. |
Disengaged is going to try to not break anything that night, so they can still play on the 23rd |
