armed with wings played first. then a band called chasing dying dreams. now there is a band with the word ruins in it and all I can think of is family guy
I can see the list of bands in text, but rebuilding the ruins was what I think that last band was. the sounded like metalcore. standard fair with a lot of the metalcore. seemed like there should have been a lot more moshing that there was. do people not mosh anymore?
Struggle against hope: I kept wanting to call them struggle against nope since I'm completely filled with nope now-a-days. They didn't take too long to set up. There was a lot more moshing and some kid that practices doing back flips at home so that he can do back flips in the pit did back flips in the pit. The singer constantly talked about his voice being gone and drank honey. There were 2 people filming the set so the lighting was used FINALLY. I snapped a million shots just during the first song cuase the lighting was neat. There was also some fog/smoke, but it was pretty terrible and smelly.
Shatter this world: ultra tight playing. And they are recording with a really good friend of mine, mr kensusi.com. When ken tells you to put a breakdown in or play your guitar behind your head, you listen. Kensusi.com once stopped me (cause we are really good friends) and he said "you need a breakdown right here" and you know, he was certainly correct. Anyhow, these guys were the height of the moshing just like one would expect. it was funny hearing one of the people who was there with them complaining about one of these ceiling lights being out... I doubt they would stop the show to replace one light.
Black mass: I was told this was their 5th show here. they were really good. a lot different than I expected. They started out with some riffs that JFAC used (i think that's where I heard them).interesting set none the less. It also brought out the creeps. A bunch of dover people I never see.
I had to jump on here and say something about the band "Struggle Against Hope."
I don't know if you guys remember my thread way back about Rohirrim/Aura Of Aquila's jamspace getting broken into and $5000 worth of gear being stolen. Well, the kid who stole the gear is the guitar player for Struggle Against Hope: Shane Gaudette, the kid with the baseball cap, LTD guitar, and lip ring.
they did put on a good show. you could tell they were in a prefessional studio recently cause they were tight, polished, and loud.
as for the thieving dude in struggle against hope, HOW THE FUCK DOES HE GET ON SHOWS? how did he not do jail time? if he stole from me and convicted of it, I would everything I could to make sure that any band he's in never got another show, ever. stealing like that is the highest of douchebag things. he should be put on a list. this is the musical equivalent of kiddie touching.
what is their myspace address?
I couldn't find it and then gave up to play playstation.

thanks to arron to for coming out last night and shooting our show. We have another show on march 8th at the brickhouse, If you weren't able to catch black mass they will be there again, along with keygrinder, xquicksilverx, burn this city (from NY) , then came the plague, underbrightlights and twisted legacy. I try to book bands the area hasnt seen often and mix in some good locals. Deterrence, black mass and shatter this world really put on a sick show last night. We had a great turnout and have a great night all around! thanks again arron!

well, we're still in talks with the Danvers Police Department about this whole situation. Unfortunately, this shit takes a long time to actually go through, but make no mistake, we are doing something about it
We have played the Brickhouse a bunch before, but it sounded like it was our first show. haha. Our peavy 6505 blew a fuse just before the show so we had to use that JCM900 with the dead tubes, and only one hour of practice since we recorded in early december. (excuses excuses I know) I think were playing there again next month, march 8th I think. Should be a much better show.

hey guys, I actually play drums for Struggle Against Hope and I really want to thank you for coming out. The set was rough a fuck (brand new guitarist and ryan, the singer, needs his tonsils out hardcore). Either way, wanted to say I appreciate you guys (and the pictures) a ton. Also, I want to say that about the theft, this all went on without ANY of the rest of us knowing, and we've confronted him about this shit since then. Please don't let it reflect badly on the rest of us, we would never do something like that (hell, I let the drummer from Black Mass use my snare drum for his set and I've only met him once). Either way, let me apologize on behalf of him. I know it's being dealt with with the police and whatever needs to be done will be done. Don't let it reflect badly on us as a whole. Thanks.
I have no problem with you nor anyone else in the band, you guys didn't break into my band's jamspace. I only have a problem with Shane, and I'm pretty sure your ex-guitar player Alex was involved as well. Either way, I would love for Shane to contact me and tell me what the hell he was thinking

I'll see what I can do. The best I can do right now is guarantee you that nothing of the type will ever happen again. Now that we are aware this has been a problem, we are watching like a hawk. I can personally promise you that nothing will be stolen at any shows or rehearsal spaces or anything of the sort. The 4 of us are going to be keeping our eyes wide fucking open.

The scene coming from High School students now adays is getting pretty lame, Armed with Wings is not only a stupid name but there music is so generic and consists of playing the same thing over and over and once and a while change the order of it.
This is the weakest drama ever. This thread should be littered with empty threats, chest puffing, name calling, and home addresses being defiantly given out. Cut the shit.
cut them some slack they just formed a few weeks ago and it was their first show.
they'll get better .. i've known one of the kids since he was a todler. they got a bunch of good criticism after the show and took it to heart and i know they are practicing like crazy. I'm not the fondest of the name either,.. but it's not my band
