6 transaction limitations under Regulation D of the Federal Reserve.

Anyone hit this? Carina did an I'm afraid to tx things to/from my savings account. I used to use it as a weekly fund to save extra money instead of holding it all in my checking account.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Jan 13,2010 2:24pm
yep. this is because savings accounts are not supposed to be transactional accounts.

toggletoggle post by arktouros at Jan 13,2010 2:25pm
yeah i dunno. i do the same thing as you, i must have transferred too much money out of it because now it's a checking account.

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Jan 13,2010 2:25pm
Never heard of this - 6 transactions within what timeframe?

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Jan 13,2010 2:26pm
also Reg D has no bearing on the amount of transfers into a Savings account. only out.

Mmmhmm - I motherfucking see.

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Jan 13,2010 2:29pm
I did it once and got a letter saying if I did it again it would turn into a checking account.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Jan 13,2010 2:31pm
I did it as well. Got a letter. Burned it.

toggletoggle post by arktouros at Jan 13,2010 2:31pm
i did it one too many times, then i got the letter saying if i did it again it would change, but by that time, it was already changed to checking. so that was fun.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Jan 13,2010 2:33pm
I wonder if they count paying bills online as a transfer. I probably average about 5 if yes...1 if not.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Jan 13,2010 2:34pm
i've never heard of a savings account being changed into a checking account. banks are fucked up. credit unions for the fuckin win kehd

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Jan 13,2010 2:35pm
I'm not exactly racking up the interest in my fucking no yield BofA savings account anyhow.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Jan 13,2010 2:40pm

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Jan 13,2010 2:44pm

thats why i got a high yield Bova savings account, my monthly statement comes pre-shredded which can be inconvenient, but after 6 months I get a discount on the purchase of a stealth knockoff at guitar center.

where is this magical list?

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Jan 13,2010 3:05pm
I clicked the Monthly Maintenance Fee one time online. There was a section about how I could prevent the fee in the future. Just followed the links from there.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Jan 13,2010 3:07pm
basically, for me it was needing to have an automatic transfer in of at least $25. I always transferred more than that, but didn't have it set up as automatic.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 20,2010 3:30pm
so far 3 this month...

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Apr 20,2010 3:32pm
savings account?

toggletoggle post by TheRidersofDoom  at Apr 21,2010 3:29am
BANKS. BURN THEM!

but seriously, didn't I tell you that citi-bank now requires 7 days of notice for withdrawal, if they want to that is.

Banks are fighting back against regulations from the gov't just after we bailed them out with our dollars...so they can take more of our dollars.

"the day of cleansing is at hand!"-thulsa doom

they are doing this because they know soon enough something will trigger massive bank failure so they are trying to shore up credit and reserves by limiting your activity.
