You know the theories about how all these ancient civilizations had help to build all the structures? At least thats what some people claim. Well MY theory is that we as humans created those structures. How? Time Travel. In the distant future we discovered how to travel through time. Of course we go back to learn and experience the civilizations of old. In turn, and as us being the way we are, we end up helping the past civilizations build these structures.

I always wondered if the theory you're talking about couldn't be taken a huge step further. What if we eventually evolve to the point where we go back and create the big bang, or more precisely send it backwards through time to ignite and create the universe - or what if the end result of the universe's gradual expansion is to have this effect, to send the big bang backwards through time, creating itself, and by doing so generating the giant temporal loop and universe of boundaries at any given moment that is our existence.

Is "The Inner Light" the episode where they explain why every species in the galaxy is a bi-pedal humanoid? I love that they actually addressed that issue.

I give Star Trek and enormous amount of credit for giving some kind of in-canon explanation for that. I don't know of any other sci-fi franchise (ie Star Wars) that has explained why all the humans and non-humans look basically the same.

Definitely, although I think TNG transcended the Trek franchise, reached beyond it, as you don't have to original Star Trek or other sci-fi to like it (I don't), and I think this attention to detail was just one example of going above and beyond what was expected from the genre. TNG was the smartest show ever to air, IMO, in that it poses questions for contemplation and the enjoyment of the show is for the most part one's own thought process as it spouts off from there, sometimes into a completely different place. I almost feel my IQ going up when I watch it, and it generally puts me in a very creative/thoughful mood afterwards. This effect is HIGHLY enhanced, of course, by watching it super high.

TNG's "The Measure of a Man" wrote an android's bill of rights better than Asimov did. That's probably my favorite Trek episode.

Dune > TNG > all else

That episode is awesome, it pretty much set the bar for the show from seasons 3 - 7. From that point on, it wasn't just enough anymore to have something abnormal happen, as was often the case in the first couple seasons; there had to be a serious, profound ethical/intellectual dilemna that broke new ground in some very thoughtful way, or there wasn't going to be an episode.
