How about the random parking tickets and tow jobs for no apparent reason? I seriously think I am boycotting the entire state of Rhode Island. I have the worst fucking luck driving and parking there...

I park all over the place there and the only issue I've had was a broken mirror.

I've had my car towed once (even though I was told the spot I was in was fine), got a ticket for going "55 in a 35" (I was going 50 in a 55) and the latest was a $100 ticket for being "parked in a tow zone." Ok, look at these pictures, and tell me where you see a sign in the spot I am parked that says I am in a tow zone?

















As you can see in the last picture, the spot in back of mine WAS marked, as was every other spot on the street, but there is no sign or marking in the parking spot for the spot I was in that said I couldn't park there. The sad thing is, I'm probably just going to pay it rather than go through all the BS of having to drive allll the way down there and take a day off from work and all the BS. Fucking bullshit. Plus, a parking ticket in Worcester is $10, in Providence, fucking $100???? Fuck that state.

I would tow you for having a Creed sticker on your car ;)

My friend melissa and i drove to PA (not philly....i'm talking where the amish live) but i forget the town name..anyhow,..we had tickets and passes and were asked to interview one of the bands (that has since broken up) anyhow their set was raining out so we did the interview and LEFT Creed was headlining

undergroundscene-- FYI, the double-sided arrow on the sign indicates that spaces on both sides of the sign are prohibited. i don't mean to bust your balls, but they kinda teach you that in driver's ed. aside from that, they just doubled all the parking violation fines in providence. most tickets used to be 10-15 bucks, now they're 20-30. parking in a tow zone was, until last year, $50. i feel your pain though. my drummer and i after a show went to get food, and literally 2 minutes after we parked, we both got ticketed for $100. the good thing is that although the ticket says you have 30 days to pay, they usually won't chase you for another 3-4 months. especially since you're out of state, i wouldn't worry about it too much. anyway, just pay attention to the signs and you shouldn't have any trouble parking here.

Then why is the sign facing that spot behind me? If they wanted to make that point clear, why wouldn't they turn it facing both spaces? Every single space had that exact sign except the one I was in, that is why I thought I was ok, because every single spot on that street had a sign except this one. The spot on the other side of the street was a handicap space. All of this parking was "reserved for city council members." There is a little trailer diner at the end of the street, and a dude there told me once that it was ok to park there after 6. Must have changed that too.

And as for your "30 days to pay" thing, it says "Fine is doubled after 10 days" That's fucking ridiculous.

The real kicked is that if we had just left after the show, we would have been fine, because I left after six songs of Life Of Agony and went to my car to listen to the Red Sox game while my friend stayed and watched the show. Then we decided to go over to Dave And Busters, and instead of driving over and parking in the garage, we just stayed there. That is when I got the ticket...

what i mean is, just pay the original fine. they won't bother chasing you for a long time, and if you just pay the original amount, they won't bother you, even though it says the fine doubles. also, every city/town i've ever got a parking ticket in, they double if you don't pay within a set period of time.
other than that i don't know what to tell you. i feel your pain. just thought maybe i could ease your grief a little bit. since there wasn't a sign in your space, you might have some luck fighting it in court. i bet they'd at least reduce the fine. especially if you get judge caprio. plus then you'd get to be on tv.

I don't even care about being made fun of for liking Creed, their first album was amazing and is one of the reasons I started listening to heavier music (I am not saying they are heavy, but compared to what I used to listen to, it was a start). I'm never going to stop liking the bands I used to like just because newer stuff wasn't as good or because their image changed and soccer moms world wide wet themselves over their music. Then I'd be selling myself out.

But yeah, that first album is a classic, I don't care what anyone says...
