Wanna play my IPod in my car with an AUX outlet. Don't have one. Can you get just the AUX outlet installed or do you need to replace the entire CD player? Noob question, but suck one. Thanks in advance.

The trick is getting your car's System32 file uninstalled, but that's nothing a barrel roll won't fix.

It could very well just be cheaper to buy a new stereo face plate w/ an aux in. Use the internets for further info

I've been asking myself the same questions lately. Buy an AUX adapter and install it myself? Bring it to a professional so I don't fuck it up? Buy a new CD player with an AUX output which would also put my car at risk for burglary in Lowell?

I just recently bought a new stereo because I was sick of CDs and my car didn't have an AUX in.

If you don't need something with a shit ton of features check out some stereos at Crutchfield.com. Prices are pretty good (low end around $70-80, you can get a cheap stereo with USB in (better than AUX in) and they send you the mounting bracket, wiring harness, stock stereo removal tools (if needed), and vehicle-specific instructions on how to remove/install. Most of the shit is free shipping too. I ordered mine Wednesday, and got it Friday. Obviously it doesn't make it 100% theft-proof, but most of them have removable faceplates.

You would have to get a new stereo. I got one with an ipad mount. if you don't want to get that, get a fm-transmitter mount.

I have a stereo with a iPod docking cable, pretty sweet.

I don't know the answer to your question though lol

I think you just saved me a shitload of money.

the obvious answer is to drive your car to a car dealership and buy a new car.

I want my next car to have an iPad dock. Anyhow, if you get a stereo with a dock and not an aux, then at any time apple can change things so that your iPod doesn't work with it anymore. My 16G nano doesn't really work with my dock where my 60GB video did. My iPad doesn't work at all with it and I don't think iPhones or touches do either.

you need one of these, apple changed the way they charge their devices a few years ago i had this problem when i tried to used my phone with my older car stereo now it works fine...
as for the ipad im not sure it would work because the ipad requires 10watts of power which most older headsets dont put out....

@aaron michael: sneaky japs.
@xax: it's not about charging, it's about using files/playing.
