Not sure if anyone gives a shit here, but John Aubrey and I starting a pro wrestling and heavy metal podcast called NECKBREAKER. We're gonna interview metal band members, shoot the shit on wrestling & metal news, and get drunk as fuck the entire time. This is our first time doing a podcast... so it might take some getting used to, but we're aiming to put these out every 2 weeks.
The first episode is now online with Steve from The Summoned as the guest, and can be downloaded or streamed at http://www.neckbreaker.net . Should be on iTunes soon too once the RSS updates on Apples end.
BUMP, this DEFINITELY needs more Ambrose. I say 'uh' too much, John laughs uncontrollably, and Dysentery in the background is probably too loud (no such thing). First episode so we're a couple jobbers shitting this out. It's on iTunes now too if you feel like listening for 30 seconds and then immediately deleting it
Listening now. Don't beg for money before any content. Save that till the middle of the show. Turn off the obnoxious background music. Over an hour in and the show has picked up I assume from alcohol consumption.
GREAT feedback, appreciated. After we recorded this we already decided to push any money shit till later in the show for episode 2. It's cheap to do this anyway so it's not even a huge deal if we go broke. The background music was much lower in WAV file but the MP3 compressed and cranked it up way too loud... agreed. And we definitely picked up after the table filled with empty bottles and cans... aiming to drink more before we record next week too.
I finished listening to the whole thing. I enjoyed it for the most part. If anything I'd cut out news and just riff on the product whether it be Raw or Classic matches. Cause if your prerecording all the news you're giving is old news. It's more interesting to here riffing on the actual product. And more talk of Damien Sandows boner which he clearly stole from the Iron Sheik when Hogan one the title.
The fact that you made it through most of the podcast definitely means alot, thanks KEV. Good call on the Soup, I'll be subscribing to it tonight. I listen to Aftermath and AOW weekly and wanted something similar but with metal topics too. And yes the news part was one of the things we'll have to revise. We want to keep it, but only non-time sensitive topics really. Even week old metal news about a band putting out a new album isn't the end of the world, but point taken. And Alex I'll add Barren Oak to the list of guests who want to be on! We have several people in line to be interviewed first, but after that we'll get you in!
I listen to Wresling Soup, Don Tony and Kevin Castle, Art of Wrestling, PW Torch Livecast, Old School Wrestling Podcast, and Wrestlespective. All are pretty good.

We posted episode 2, guest is Corey Lucas from the band TEETH. I'll keep posting updates in this thread, grab the MP3/stream from http://www.neckbreaker.net or iTunes later this morning.
Episode 3 is up! We had an awesome afternoon drinking session with Chris Kessaris from Parasitic Extirpation/3 Headed Monster/KES and we talked about old WWF house shows and how Chris managed to get in the ring at 4 years old. Available for download at http://www.neckbreaker.net or on iTunes
DEFINITELY! Chris is always welcome to be a background guest for future episodes, he just won't be the interview focus. We'd like to get you on here soon too... maybe in a few episodes if that's something you'd be into
Episode 4 is up! Nate Johnson (Fit for an Autopsy plus every other band in existence) and Seth Coleman (Buckhunter plus ex-The Acacia Strain) join us for a 50+ beer discussion! We talk about the latest metal and wrestling news, share some ridiculous touring stories, and completely wreck our livers with a King Diamond drinking game.
Episode 5 is online. Guests are Matt Jones from KINGS, Bill Kurtz from FINISHER, and drunk Brando. We talked old Rumbles and killed some Old Crow whiskey
No shit, that rules. I'll ask him. Definitely want to get wrestlers on the show now that we're a few episodes in and more comfortable with this lousy concept
The newest episode was pretty unlistenable. When people started yelling in my ear I had to shut it off. You can't have people who are sloppy drunk on your show. After a while I had no idea what people were talking about.
Episode 6 is now online with guests Tim and Ali from Hivesmasher. A little less wrestling talk, and a lot less blackout drunk in the background this episode. This was fun, appreciate the honest feedback KEVORD
This week was a lot better then the past two episodes even though there was little to no wrestling talk. You should have talked more about the Christmas Raw which was surprisingly good and then the New Years episode which was shitty.
Definitely missed the past 2 weeks with the damn holidays. Read the spoilers and the Xmas episode sounded awful, but maybe I'll youtube it to change my mind. And yeah, def looking forward to Raw tonight
Brian, i'd love to join for an episode, talk about my shitty bands, talk shit, and talk wrestling (most of which involves late 90s/early 2000s WWF and hardcore japanese matches with barbed wire roped rings and lots of Terry Funk rambling
Hell yes dude! The next several weeks are booked with guests, but I'll definitely get you in on this sooooooon. Could you email me as a reminder? brian@neckbreaker.net
Same goes with anything in life... the older shit will always be better (metal, movies, AMERICA, etc). But definitely still try to listen to newer bands and watch newer shows
post by Smarky Smark and the Funky Bunch at Jan 8,2013 3:53pm
Dolph Ziggler and Antonio Cesaro continue to give me hope. Until John Cena kicks out of 10 finishers and wins with one.
Damien Sandow, The Shield, Team Hell No,Randy Ortons demotion and Punks year long title reign are just a few more reasons the WWE is better now then it was a year ago.
post by Smarky Smark and the Funky Bunch at Jan 8,2013 4:12pm
That TLC match with the Shield was intense. Maybe MOTY, and not just because there were weapons involved. They really made the most of their time and used their numbers to make sure the action didn't stop the entire time. The only thing that could have made it better was if afterwards Sandow came out and said "You're Welcome".
you really need to have these guys on your podcast next time they play in MA. shit is like ECW on stage with barbed wire, fluorescent light bulbs, and people going through tables.
No shit, that rules. I'll ask him. Definitely want to get wrestlers on the show now that we're a few episodes in and more comfortable with this lousy concept
find him on facebook...he's a character and would make a great guest.
The ending to Monday Night Raw sucked, with the exception of CM Punk telling the Rock that everytime he shows up he is gonna kick the Rock's ass, that made me laugh.
The end of Raw was great. Punk was getting tons of heal heat. All around I enjoyed this weeks Raw. I thought Cena vs. Ziggler and Punk vs. Ryback were PPV quality matches.
Punk did get some good heat, I liked it when he was talking shit to the audience, that was good, but when the Rock came out it kinda fizzled abit for me. Both those matches were really good, and Ziggler should be main eventing already.
BUMP for episode 8. Bassil and Nick from POWERGLOVE joined us. We drank, discussed them randomly playing The Gathering of the Juggalos, and went over wrestling and metal news. Just spreading the word...
Brian and Jeff from Blood of the Gods were on our recent episode. We talked about their band's status, metal and wrestling news, and discussed some other side projects they're in as well.
The Blood of the Gods episode has been the best episode yet. Someone complained about the burping in the other thread which is usually really obnoxious. But it seemed like the burp count was lower in this episode. You should have recorded after the Wrestling is Art show on Saturday. That was a killer wrestling event.
post by We The People Advocate at Feb 21,2013 9:04am
Thanks for the feedback KEV, I'd say that we can try to cut down the burping but it probably won't happen. We're not too professional, but on the other hand it probably sounds annoying as a listener. As for the Wrestling is Art show, that ruled. Had front row for it, such a blast. If we didn't have Gods booked already we would have convinced a WIA wrestler (Colt politely turned us down).

I got busted first, Swagger stole my gimmick, there goes your push.

Myke and Desmond from CONFORZA are on this week's episode. We mostly talked New England metal and a little less wrestling this week. Also discussed the new album they're recording this week. GOOD dudes and great friends of ours! KEV you might want to the skip this one... the burping was outta control, but the content is pretty solid I think.
Greg Murphy (drummer for Obsidian Tongue, Blood of the Gods, Excrecor, and THEDEADSTATION) joins us. We drink, talk New England metal, and discuss 90's WWF.
Mark Richards and Evan Duplessis from COMPOSTED drank with us this week. We talked about their recording plans and shared some weird touring stories. Good times, fun listen.

Will, Eric, and Drew from DYSENTERY were on this week's episode. We drank a shitload, shared random tour stories, and bullshitted over metal and wrestling headlines. Get it FREE off iTunes, Stitcher, or right from:
New episode with Kevin O from Codex Obscurum as our drinking guest. We talk about Goldust and complain about our shitty choice of metal news stories. Get it FREE of iTunes, Stitcher, or right from our website here:

you should create tags so you can cross-reference bands, etc that are mentioned. Aaron talks about remembering never, ictus, etc... would be cool to see in tags at the bottom so you can see what bands are referenced with stories across episodes.
Weird that Firefox messes up the website playback on your end. I only use Firefox and I never hear any issues. Well if you really care, the episodes are also on iTunes, the Stitcher app, Audioboo, and Podbay.
Rev's is on our list of guests we'd like to have if he's interested, and you wouldn't have to be there for the homo wrestling portion. PS thanks for all the photos for our website, although we never asked.
Chris from VATTNET VISKAR was on this week's episode. Fun times. Cool stories on their background and some wrestling talk too. As usual it's free on iTunes, Stitcher, or you can get the mp3/stream it here:
Wow listening to conforza, mentioning slipknot, haven't heard slipknot in ages... Band seems awesome.
Someone has some burping skills there, I was waiting for him to blow me away, I could outbelch anyone.
I great show, new fan.
And as usual, thanks for letting me steal your photos Rev. In return I have placed a "very lucrative" text link on the right column to your home page. Plus i'm using tags now too, good call... SEO is up.
I was going to listen, but I tried to look up info on Killwhitneydead and they don't even have a wiki page or anything. I could find no evidence that this band actually exists.

You're not missing anything with that band. But Matt himself is doing other more substantial stuff. He co-runs Tribunal Records (Prayer for Cleansing) and the Divebomb imprint that's been re-issuing metal records lately including the Confessor demos, Scanner's first two albums, and lots of more obscure stuff.
Haha that wiki page stuff is just ridiculous. And yeah the Rich episode was a drunk blast, and hell we could've quit after the Composted one too but I like to drink and talk metal & wrestling with friends every 2 weeks.

The vocalist from 3 Inches of Blood called in this week. Good dude, would drink with Cam. As usual, you can listen to it FREE on iTunes or get the mp3 from
Got your show back on track again. Nice to see a wrestler as a guest and your back to the way you did your older shows with the bullshittery, the awesome vulgarity, the belches, the crazy guests-all the things that lacked a few episodes back. Welcome back home homies hahaha! Great new episode, keep em fucking coming.

the Official WARGASM Facebook here https://www.facebook.com/WARGASMwpa please go add yourself to that and get updates on WARGASM straight from the band
Appreciate the feedback Apixslayerrr. We definitely want to get more wrestlers on. We've had 2 who cancelled at the last moment and that's made us hesitant to book others, but Hanson was a solid guest and is opening the door for more. Haha and i'll be sure to add 'more vulgarity' to our script. Cheers
Listening to the new episode. Was one of the Neckbreaker guys in Kings? I laughed at the RTL story from first hand experience.
I saw John at King Diamond and I told him that story but replaced the band Kings with some other band and he goes "That happened to me too!" and I said "um.. yeah, you told that story on the podcast and I was just telling you the same exact story back"
Gotta love Chris's lovely drunkenness fuckery, every once and a while it slips on the show. I have to say though, I enjoy the in-person interviews better than over the phone (unless it's guest callers), just more fun and engaging in my opinion.
I'm still stuck on what band comes to a casual interview with their attorney?! Was that a joke haha or part of a script? Brian seemed much more laid back this episode compared to previous shows, maybe a little bit of alcohol in the system helped out with that!
Interviewed Oscar from HAMMERFALL this week. Big metal and wrestling fan. Later on our panel did a metal album tournament, talked Royal Rumble aftermath, and we received a visit from "Dusty Rhodes"
I wanted to make fun of john for something, but forgot. He did talk about the palehorse show where the drummer took a drum stick to the back of his throat. I was watching that. it was unreal.
EAT SLEEP COLD BEER BEAT THE FUCK OUT OF YOU REPEAT EAT SLEEP COLD BEER BEAT THE FUCK OUT OF YOU REPEAT EAT SLEEP COLD BEER BEAT THE FUCK OUT OF YOU REPEAT

Hey guys, just did some research over the past few days and figured out that most of mainstream wrestling is fake. The story they use for each character is made up, they are not actually the persona they are given or take on, in real life.
Talked to CHUCKY BILLY from TESTAMENT aboard the recent 70000tons of Metal Cruise for this week's episode. Topics include:
- whether he misses playing basement shows and small bars
- competition amongst the Big 4 thrash bands
- Testament's connection to Billy Milano and Stormtroopers of Death
- old school pro wrestling
- tour stories and much more
