There is a pair of shoes I'm looking at and loving, but they are $314. I can't justify that. Got me thinking about how much I spent on shoes in the past. I have a set of french mountain boots for winter hiking that were over $200 and I've worn them only a couple times. besides that the most I've spent is $120 with 60% off... or maybe $80. idk... maybe doc martins.

$120 on boots ONCE...they were guaranteed for life, fell apart and it was the biggest pain in the ass ever trying to get them replaced...never again. For the past 5+ years I've been wearing these 'tactical' boots from Walmart..I love them, they're $60 and they last a full year with me wearing them probably 300 days out of the year...2 or 3 times I've walked into Walmart wearing the very boots I plan on replacing, put on the new pair, put my old ones in the new box and walk out....free boots!

If boots count, I just spent $250 on knee-high Dinner boots for hunting. I had to get away from rubber boots for more ankle support, so these seemed like the only choice for my purposes. They better be worth it.

Probably not more than $60, since the pair of boots I wear in the snow or when it's really cold are hand me downs. I'm pretty sure these will be the only sneakers I ever buy again:

$159 for New Balance 990s plus $65 for inserts. The last pair I bought wore out after about a year but I could have pushed them for a little while longer. Usually I wouldn't spend that much on a pair of running shoes, but they're the only option I've tried that ease my flat feet and fucked up knees. The inserts really amp up the comfort and don't give me unnecessary arch support (doctors told me if I have what is considered the "correct" amount of arch support, I'm at much greater risk of dislocating both knees).
