Lilyhammer Season 2
I was just about to start watching it. It has been a while since I watched season 1, so I might have to rewatch that first.

Snowtown Murders.
Best/most disturbing "loosely-based-on-a-real-serial-killer" movie sing "Henry" (which - i believe - is also on Netflix)

ABCs of Death.
Awesome horror/gore/horror-comedy anthology.

Doctor Who
If you dig SciFi and haven't checked it out yet, do so.

Irreversible
You'll probably feel guilty for fapping.

Sweatshop
Fun movie, if you're into plotless gorefests.

toggletoggle post by shitcunt at Dec 17,2013 11:28am
*since "Henry"

Oh....last I checked, all of Chan-Wook Park's "Revenge Trilogy" was on instant

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance
Oldboy
Lady Vengeance

^support

I think it might be dubbed though, I vaguely remember getting annoyed and downloading the subbed versions instead.

toggletoggle post by Timriley at Dec 17,2013 11:33am
The Revenge Trilogy is easily one of the most intense foreign series I've ever seen. Oldboy fucked me up for days. I found it way more disturbing than Irreversible or I Stand Alone.

toggletoggle post by shitcunt at Dec 17,2013 11:33am
Hm. When I watched, it was subtitled. They could have put the dubbed versions up though.

I hope not.

toggletoggle post by shitcunt at Dec 17,2013 11:34am
Tim, yes, Oldboy is fucked!!
Right up there with Funny Games and Visitor Q

toggletoggle post by Timriley at Dec 17,2013 11:34am
I highly recommend the Australian movie "The Horseman" streaming on Netflix. Low budget, badass, and super violent. Kind of like a... low budget Taxi Driver in a way.

toggletoggle post by Timriley at Dec 17,2013 11:35am
Funny Games was tough for me because in the original (not the one that the director himself remade), that dog they killed was actually killed in the movie. Did it for "artistic purposes"- that didn't sit right with me, but whatever. definitely fucked up. Have you seen Martyrs? that was another "wtf movie"

toggletoggle post by Timriley at Dec 17,2013 11:37am
Dread, Mike, and Rand- Lillyhammer is definitely kind of corny but it still cracks me up. I enjoy it. Also really enjoyed "Troll Hunter". I take it you've probably all seen it but it's one of the coolest fantasy movies I have ever seen in my life. I could watch it over and over.

toggletoggle post by shitcunt at Dec 17,2013 11:37am
Didn't know they actually killed the dog.
It doesn't bother me so much (not an animal lover), but it's definitely not really cool to kill anything for reasons other self-defense or sustenance.

Yes, Martyrs was fucking twisted!!

toggletoggle post by shitcunt at Dec 17,2013 11:39am
I love all the ridiculous "over-the-top" horror stuff.
High Tension
A Serbian Film
Human Centipede (1 was good, 2 was amazing)

toggletoggle post by Timriley at Dec 17,2013 11:39am
Stupidly low budget but since we're talking about shock stuff....

bennyhillifier

toggletoggle post by Timriley at Dec 17,2013 11:41am
having seen Centipede 2 yet. High Tension was cool, A Serbian was good- none of it really really shocked me though. I get more shocked by rape scenes than crazy gore these days now that I have a family and shit. speaking of rape/child molesters, Hard Candy was fucking great. I couldn't move an inch during it.

toggletoggle post by shitcunt at Dec 17,2013 11:47am
I loved Hard Candy!
It was a bonus that the little girl in the movie was Mr. Lahey's daughter in Trailer Park Boys.

Those movies don't shock me either. It takes a lot for a movie to have any sort of real effect on me. I just enjoy watching/reading about the darker things in life, and being thankful that none of it happens to me, haha.

I dig low budget stuff, August Underground was actually my first step into ultra-gory/extreme horror. Mordum is definitely the best of the trilogy.

Rape stuff doesn't really bug me too much, but there are a few rape scenes that made me feel terrible (I joke about fapping to Irreversible, but really, it made me nauseous).

Child molesting and incestual rape bugs me. I can usually get through it though. I actually had to fast forward the scene in Bastard Out Of Carolina where the creepy stepdad violated Christina Ricci.

toggletoggle post by Timriley at Dec 17,2013 12:04pm
haha yeah man! and definite bonus about lahey's daughter. TPB is probably the best thing on Netflix bar none.

toggletoggle post by shitcunt at Dec 17,2013 12:23pm

toggletoggle post by shitcunt at Dec 18,2013 8:39am
He seriously rules. "Fudoh", "Audition", "Imprint", "Ichi The Killer", the man is a fucking horror master.

I'm even digging his "mainstream" attempts. "13 Assassins" and "Hara Kiri: Death of a Samurai" were fucking intense!!

don't forget 3 Extremes

Sukiyaki Western Django kicked ass

I have the MPD Psycho miniseries that he directed but haven't got round to watching it...the comics were awesome, though.

Sukiyaki Western Django was ridiculous (in a good way)
Haven't seen MPD Psycho yet. It's on my Netflix dvd queue.
I saw 3 extremes once a few years back. Pretty cool anthology. Takashi Miike, Fruit Chan and Chan-Wook Park are probably the 3 best filmmakers in Asia.

As much as I dig Miike and Park, I actually think "Dumplings" was the best part of that flick. Gotta check out the full version (it's on Netflix).

That's kind of the point, though. It's supposed to be tongue-in-cheek as opposed to the Sopranos which is supposed to be more serious and dramatic.

haven't seen the full dumplings yet either. did any of you guys see A Tale Of Two Sisters? kind of a cool ?Korean? movie. I tried to watch it with my wife, but she guessed the twist within 5 minutes of it starting and I got pissed and picked something else to watch.

RE: Dog killing. A lot of people don't realize Milo & Otis was shot in Japan. And the scene where Milo goes off the waterfall was done by chucking as many orange cats as they needed to off a cliff until they got a take they liked. Do not support.

Yes, I am fully aware of that but it just seems overdone and not funny at least not anymore..the first season was better.

I watched it once, drunk. But I remember it being good. I dig the first one a bit more, but there was one piece/story that was better than anything from the first one.

Definitely check it out.

Re: Unchain The Wolves' selections.

The Last Circus - been meaning to check that one out. I'm a huge Álex de la Iglesia fan. Day of the Beast was fucking incredible.

Maniac - original or remake? I love the original. I'm being stubborn about the remake. I like Elijah Wood as a comedic actor. But as a serial killer? I'm not buyin.

Fargo - best dark comedy ever.

Downfall - It's really weird to see a movie that (sort of) humanizes Hitler

I Spit on Your Grave - Such a good flick. Another one I'll never sit through the remake of.

The Stuff - haven't seen this in years. Should watch again

I like the first season better too, but the scene in Season 2 when he's doing the joe pesci goodfellas act might be the funniest thing that's ever happened on that show.

I thought the remake was really good but it's a very different movie, Elijah's creepy and the whole thing is properly nasty and mean-spirited

What the fuck was so good about V/H/S? That movie was so poorly thrown together.. It was like I was watching some kids final project for his college film class.

I liked it a lot better. 3 our of 4 of the shorts in it completely ruled. It's weird because I hate 99% of found footage movies.

toggletoggle post by unchain_the_wolves at Dec 19,2013 1:17pm
Yeah, just the remake is on there. Fuck, I wish the original was streaming. I really need to buy the original but I enjoyed the remake. Good gore and they pay homage to the original Maniac in one scene when Elijah Woods character is holding a women's scalp and he looks at his reflection in a car door mirror and its the original cover of Maniac. Its shit like that that really makes me happy. If you going to do a remake... FINNEEEEEE but throw cool shit like that in there to make the fans smile.

toggletoggle post by TimRiley at Dec 19,2013 2:13pm
not gonna lie. i know everyone else dug the maniac remake for the most part, but i wasn't too psyched over it. it was definitely good for a remake, i just cant put my finger on why it didn't impress me a whole lot :/

toggletoggle post by shitcunt at Dec 20,2013 11:14am
Hm. I don't know. I really am bothered by remakes, and can't picture Elijah Wood making a good psycho killer.

But maybe I should suck it up and give it a chance.

Aril, are you not into low budget flicks? Or just not V/H/S/?
Just curious. I thought the wraparound was a bit weak. But there were some cool ideas in the short films in between.
