I bought a dvd from Australia. I put it in the dvd player and a code comes up: wrong region code? It won't play? does anyone know how to fix it? or am i fucked?

you either need to change the region on your DVD player (which you can only do a couple times) or get a region free dvd player.

looks like i'll have to go out and buy a dvd player. i don't think you can unlock the region code on a ps2 which is what i use to play dvds. strictly ghetto

There are a lot of cheap DVD players which can play multiple regions right out of the box. I think I have an APEX that cost me $38, 4-5 years ago.

If you have a DVD burner you can make a 'back-up' copy with DVD Shrink and set it to region free. I don't know if it will work on a PS2 but it has worked on normal DVD players.

My bro has an old PS2 and I don't think it will play DVD-R's. And yes you can change the region by re-burning it with DVDshrink, but I assume that you'll have to change the region of your DVD burner first to be able to read the disc.
