an e-mail I set out:
code:

4 more years of saying "I'm canadian"
4 more years of hilariousness

look on the bright side... we had 4 years of bush being a "nice guy" so that he
could win the next election. the next 4 years will be so outragious it will be
hilarious. I can't even fathom what he might do.

also, think about it... music during the cold war, reagan/king bush I was good.
people had things to write music about. music during the cliton era wasn't
that good.. I mean.. what do people have to write songs about? how they work
in a cubicle during the day and only have time to drive to a club AFTER 5pm?
we need more songs about nuclear war.

I look at all the states that are red and I know that those are states I never
want to go to. the only reason republicans win is cause they are all fucking
religious and have high teen preggo rates and low education rates.

awesome!~

Thats what gets me....look around people...he hasn't done shit for us here either. Look around at our environment for a bit...pollution? Will go up...crime...will go way up. The war? Well neither Kerry OR Bush can get us out of that swiftly now anyways. I'm looking over my shoulder from now on.....this country is gonna get really scary.

I think we can all now assume that won't happen for at least 4 years.

toggletoggle post by Lynneaus  at Nov 3,2004 2:35pm
Kerry conceded when he realized that the numbers in Ohio were not going to be in his favor and it would be impossible for him to win.

toggletoggle post by dan. at Nov 3,2004 2:37pm
conceding before all votes are counted is bullshit. it really makes you feel like your vote matters, eh?

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Nov 3,2004 3:49pm
i wish he didn't concede before the final results were in, but i think the numbers in ohio were getting worse and he knew he was going to lose. he didn't want to drag it out like last time. i guess i am glad he conceded instead of giving his supporters false hope in the end.

toggletoggle post by dan. at Nov 3,2004 3:53pm
i completely disagree. he should have fought for every vote. not to mention, conceding stops the vote counting process and doesnt add numbers to third party candidates who need as many votes as possible for future funding. but seriously, exhumed > all this shit

well, it was an interesting night. I think gay marriage cost Kerry Ohio. I was pumped to see NH went blue. Hopefully this will be the last term from the conservatives. you'd think with all the damage down now it can only get worse. i expect more tax cuts on education, medicare, social security and more pointless big spending on military. i think Kerry was the only person from the left that couldn't beat Bush, i've felt that way for awhile, gawd damn i wish Wesley Clark was in there. the left needs to get there fucking act together. at least this wasn't robbed from us. great to see so many people voted too. our time will come.

toggletoggle post by dan. at Nov 3,2004 4:22pm

i totally agree with you. i'm just hoping maybe he will improve. i think it is more proactive for me to take this stance than be upset about kerry's loss. i wanted kerry in there. i hate bush and i think he will make our country worse, but i am hoping he might do something to redeem himself. my post was just one man's hope hanging by a thread.

toggletoggle post by My_Dying_Bride at Nov 3,2004 7:30pm
i put the word invasion in that sentence to show i was talking about a counrty...not a group of extremists such as al-queda that use the means of terrorism and terrorist cells, if you know what those are. it doesnt matter whos in office, if the terrorist want to strike from within, they will, as they did on 9/11. we cant physically war with them cause they're pussies hiding in sand dunes, they have no government we can make peace with.

and this war is nothing like vietnam, there wasnt a draft, the military used was all voluntary! we already captured a dictator within the first couple of years, we were in nam for 30.

I can understand people wanting Saddam out of power.
I just cannot agree with taking him out of power. Yes, he
was a dictator who abused some of his people, but what
makes the Wahibi cancer throughout the middle east less of a threat
than Saddam? At least in Saddam's Iraq women were given basic human
dignity and rights. At least Saddam's ultimate goal wasn't Islamic
rule over the entire world. Saddam's Iraq was the only secular
Arab nation, if democracy was going to bloom in the Middle East
Iraq would have been the place best prepared for it. Instead
we have the administration publicly expressing that they would
accept a fundamentalist Islamic government in Iraq if it ended the
fighting. Because as we learned from Afghanistan, Fundamentalist governments result in democracy and freedom for all.

everything youve said in this thread is bullshit. 'it doesnt affect you' is a really great argument. how the fuck does the policies of the administration that runs the country not affect the people who live in that country? maybe im not following. i mean, i dont make 100k+ a year, so i guess tax breaks dont affect me. you are right.

id also like to point out, linking someone to the patriot act and then asking them to 'take a look' is the same as telling someone who has a limited vocabulary to read the dictionary.

and your commentary on WWII and Vietnam is priceless.

toggletoggle post by dan. at Nov 4,2004 12:08pm
well i guess that means you wont get up to 319k, which is ashame because if you did....youd win another tax break!!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 4,2004 12:23pm
if I made $319K, I would own 2 or 3 D2H's instead of 1 D100 and 1 D70...
hell, my $$ right now goes for (in order)
1) my new mortgage
2) this site (server)
3) heat/electricity
4) gas for my car
5) food/movies/camera equipment
6) savings

in just about that order.. heck, if I made another $1K more per year, I would by a new camera... though right now, my car has 212K miles on it and the registration/inspection runs out wednesday. i need to either get a new car, but I think I'm going to get my car inspected just to see if it actually would pass.

id also like to point out, linking someone to the patriot act and then asking them to 'take a look' is the same as telling someone who has a limited vocabulary to read the dictionary.

and your commentary on WWII and Vietnam is priceless.

dear dan.,

first off i would like to thank you for that enlightenment, although youve proved noting, thank you anyways.

i was simply trying to point out that everyone is taking this as the end of the world, which it is clearly not. i thought that it would be the end of the world to if bush beat gore back in 2000 but i was over it by nov 4. most of the people on this board that are saying its over or the end has come but come on, its not the fucking apocalypse!

and if kerry had one yes maybe the tax breaks would show up and the economy a little better, but nothing dramatic. i would certainly keep taxes the way they are because to decrease taxes would decrease funding for schools, state operations, etc. i would much rather have to pay a bit more in taxes than have shitty public shools and expensive health care.

also about the patriot act, i didnt feel it was nessecary to list all the positive parts of the patriot act, so instead i linked to a page with the hard facts.

and for the facts on wwII and nam, i admit i was a while since history class, but please tell me what was false about that information

and finally tell me why, at this point in time, john kerry would be able to handle this situation better than mr. bush

he wouldnt have
a)lost so many jobs
b)invaded an innocent (or at least not proven guilty) country
c)cut taxes for the rich

and this isn't the end of the world. just the beginning of the end...of america (at least).

Job pay has increased by 6 percent since 1970, rents and other expenses have increased dozens. How many of those years was bush in power for? how many democrats were? If you put some one in power who creates 200,000 jobs and than lets 205,000 immigrants in the country, guess what happens.
Iraq was guilty as syn, they weren't proven guilty of having nukes, but it's not like they didn't do anything, it is a good strong start to develop a strong nation in the middle east to wipe out the forces of evil. People didn't bitch all that much when Clinton invaded Iraq and sweep it under the rug 4 times.
Republicans are rich beyond immagination, but trust me, liberals like Moore, Cobb, Nader, and kerry who damn republicans for not distributing thier money like communists aren't by any means eating out of trashcans, they are on the same level.

I don't understand many pro kerry arguements.

More jobs + more immigrants than jobs = bad idea

free health care for the poor thats heavily funded from taxes = lets just see how expensive free healthcare is

Saying you'd do a better job in Iraq when Bush has a 50 year plan for it and you haven't decided on plans yet because your not sure what more voters want to hear = braindead

Kerry supports stemcells slightly more... and planned to fund them with taxes so I guess he had that going for him kindof.

fuck it, they both sucked, I voted Klemmensen.

kerry didn't say he would lower our taxes i recall. he said he would tax the people who can afford to pay a little more tax, i.e. rich people. bush has a 50 year plan for iraq????? half of america doesn't want a 50 minute plan with iraq!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kerry said he wants to make healthcare more affordable, not free!!!! if you're gonna counter an argument, don't exaggerate the facts. we were told we were going into iraq for a specific reason (which we all know was not the reason to begin with.) and then when that reason backfired (no WMD's found) bush still claims he did nothing wrong at all. over 100,000 iraqi civilians dead. over 1,000 U.S. troops dead. a country is in total shambles and chaos. all for the capture of one man. and bush has the balls to say that everything's fine?

Kerry wants to make health care available to everyone, some people can't afford healthcare, so they get free healthcare programs wich costs big money. I simplified the fact, i wouldn't say I exagerated it.
Before WMD were even brought up, people supported invading any country harboring terrorists, they didn't care about WMD. After people started dieing and oil prices went up, than people started finding ways to slander Bush as if they didn't support invasion, if the people support a president to invade a country and don't know that Iraq hasn't had any controll over thier own air or ground space in almost thirty years, it's thier fault for supporting something misinformed.

1000 troops dead is a god damn mirracle. during okanawa(I believe) 500 died every hour on average. we'd probably have less casualties and have caught Saddam months earlier if people showed more support for destroying evil instead of listening to punk rock, hating the government, and clouding and distorting themselves from watching micheal moore. People slander Bush out of habbit it seems, I'm willing to bet that if WMD were found, Kerry and his stupid nigger slave Sharpton would be slandering him for not already invading Iran.

toggletoggle post by tbone_r  at Nov 4,2004 10:14pm
you can't unjustly invade countries. america is not the worlds police (believe it or not), they had the right to go into afghanistan and search for osama, but until they can better prove Saddam's connection with 9/11 or wmd's, they have no right to be in iraq.

it's not about hating the government, it's about trying to right some wrongs. It's easy to bash bush because he's such an idiot and his adminitstrations actions are so corrupt.

Your sortof missing my point. Up until a year after 9/11 the American people supported Bush invading any nation harboring terrorists. Bottom line. People changed thier minds after so what can Bush do? pull out after bulldozing a nation? I don't argue the he is brilliant, but I think people underestimate him. He's not the neandrethal the daily show makes him out to be. I definately think he knows what Iraq needs to become successful the same way Germany did and I think he can shape Iraq into that ideal better than Kerry.

was there proof that Iraq was harboring terrorists?

i also think that iraq would have been better off w/ kerry in office because, if kerry played his cards right, the rest of the world would have rallied behind him to help. no one wants to help bush. he's an ass and a liar. if kerry admitted that a mistake was made then maybe the world would have chipped in to fix the huge mess over in Iraq.

Was Saddam not a terrorist himself? Did he not order the destruction and inflict terror into select groups? Is Abu Musab al-Zarqawi who, even before we invaded Iraq for the war on terror carried out ritualistic beheadings of US soldiers, a terrorist?

Did Iraq not declare war against the US even before the war on terror and order termination of US soldiers on sight? The US just didn't comply.

Your arguement that Kerry would have more allied support is a good one, chances are he would have gained more support. Although the allies he would have gained, like France, are questionably corrupt like Bush is.

no saddam is/was not a terrorist. he was a dictator. he inflicted fear upon his people, much like what bush is doing to the american people, except saddam is just being a little more extreme. name one country that declares war on another, and then doesn't follow up with an invasion/bombing/ect. (remember, the 9/11 commission concluded that saddam had nothing to do with 9/11, so don't bother trying to use it) and any support would have been better than the little we had.

toggletoggle post by Soloman   at Nov 5,2004 9:19am
Saddam "inflicted fear on his people, much like bush... just being a little more extreme." I don't understand this. Child prisons, torture chambers, and making unwanted people disappear is only a little more extreme than bush? Yeah "much like what saddam is doing". It's easy not to care when some is fucking there own. The moment someone invades another country is when people get all flustered. But killing someone's own people? Eh who cares.

The PR behind the war, and Bush's attitude don't help unify the nation behind his foriegn policy. I think if media was at 1940's level, Bush would be considered an amazing president. In today's day and age, he just looks like an idiot which is too bad. He should work on his image, but i think where he stands, we are better off with him as president than Kerry. Kerry tried hard to get people to like him, but i don't think he stood for anything. THE MIDDLE CLASS bwa ha ha ha! Yeah I didn't buy that one bit. He offered me nothing, aside from criticisms I already had of bush. So for me personally I had no reason to vote for him.

People seem to hate bush first, and then find reasons to criticize.

I dunno. We'll see what happens.

JESUS CHRIST. what part about war without just cause do you not understand? you cant invade a country for 1 reason against the will of the entire world (oops i forgot poland!) and then when that reason proves false, fall back on "well saddam was bad and since hes out of power the world is a safer place". WOW I FEEL SAFER! thats bullshit. if you think removing saddam from power means anything, you are so completely fucked in the head theres no point in even discussing it further. allah akbah

I do think removing Saddam from power means something. Is it your opinion that it's insignificant? I can understand people saying it's not worth the cost of war, or that it's not our war to fight. That's debatable. But do you really think removing Saddam from power means nothing at all?

The War in Iraq did end and now we're occupiers. One of Bush's biggest mistakes was his expectation that establishing a secure government there would be easy. But I still think it's very possible. Kerry's thinking was, "I need to bring the troops home, so we need to establish a secure Iraq." To me that is backwards.

Bush has made mistakes, and that pisses me off, but I think the world is better off with him than Kerry.

I don't give a fuck what happens in Iraq. At first I thought it was just a distraction to keep dumbasses from noticing that the U.S. is well on its way to being a theocracy. After the election though, I can't believe how many americans are totally fine with the religious right deciding what we can and cannot do.
