death metal isn't fun anymore BECAUSE no one supports it. the snobs finally took over. ya know the "If it's not from Norway I don't want to hear it" crowd. No one wants to goto shows that are actually fun. They'd rather listen to their Soilwork cds in the car on the way to Dennys, and then talk about how much they hate it.

If anything underground brutal dm is thriving. The Maryland deathfest had a good turn out for it's first year and plenty of great bands played like Soils Of Fate, Devourment, and Mortal Decay who's pit mind you was way more insane than any hxc dancing, and everyone flooded to the stage when they got on. The problem with death metal is that there are never any good tours that come around this area and the Mass scene in particular is scarce on (brutal) death nowadays. Check out www.disconformity.jp, that "fun" kind of death metal you're all looking for =)

Almost forgot... Dehumanized are NYDM legends.

Mass just needs more DM and more kids to come out to it. Its like this Hardcore kids will support some DM and when they dance metal kids get angry. Kids used to dance like hell to Eternal suffering. I think that if both metal kids and hardcore kids could get a long then the shows would be a lot more fun and there would be bigger turn outs. Its just frustrating being in a death metal band sometimes, when the turn outs are so poor. DM is definatly thriving out there but in mass its pretty much dead and it needs to be brought back. It needs support by everyone, if your into heavy shit come out to a show. Start with the bombshelter one on the 25th, and if Dehumanized gets back together and comes around to mass that will be so fucking brutal.
